What is your motives of giving?

What is your motives when it comes to giving? Is it because it makes you feel good and bring you sense of fulfillment? Is it because in giving you will receive something in return in time? Or is it because you want to sacrifice, you want to give even if it hurts?

When I give something to someone, whether it is a material thing or not, I give it from my heart. I don't really expect anything in return. There are some instances that i really give even if it hurts as long as it's for a good sake of us.

It's not easy to give when it hurts, that's the highest form of giving and loving others, I remember what Mother Theresa said "it's not giving when you only give the things you don't need." Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Yeah, there's always self fulfillment when it comes to sharing or giving what we have to others as some people consider that even when it comes to giving we often think about ourselves. Although I'm kinda not agree with it, because when it comes to giving we give because we want and not we need. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Hi Care,
The reasons for giving and sharing is:
1. i am just happy and wants to share any blessings i have
2. i am thankful for everything that the person did to me
3. i feel good when i share anything---ideas, care, gifts, etc.

I hope three of your statement are correct. People, including I, give for these three resons. Your first statement has a link with our soul. Your 2nd statement has a link with our brain. Your 3rd statement has a lind with our heart. The motive of the giving can be one of these three motives. All the givers or granters are having the three motives. But the time and situation determin the motive. I admire you because you have answer in your wonderful question.
