i'm in the big drought section of australia, thou it may be thinking about breaking. we've been getting more rain than what we have over the last few yrs. i think some of the natural disasters are normal. but as they have not occured like this for a long time. when things may have occured like this last, techonlogy was not as good to record things. i've been brought up to try and conserve things. like not see how much water i can waste. like one time i was not told about something being knocked off at the old house, by a cow and it was not fixed right. so then the end blew of the pipe, and all the water drained out. i was not happy about it, cause i was not told but there was also the animals cause it was their water supply going to their troughs down the paddock. then there's turing things off when not used them, like now i've just gotten annoyed at my partner for turning the gas heater on even thou i've put the air con on heat. i hate coming home to what i call a christmas tree of a house with everything left on. some people don't care what is left on, and if their not the ones paying the power bill they won't care.

try i'm a mam last i looked, it is getting pushed in school about consevering things. like water and electricty. yes bush fires can be bad out here, but no worse than in the usa/canada either. blame part of that on the government, and what rules they bring in on what we're allowed to do and not. i know we didn't want to see a fire come through here this summer, cause there would be nothing left. our power bills aparently have already gone up 30%, or something. out of the 64% their putting them up over the next few yrs.

I can only do what I can do. I don't own a car. I either walk or take public transportation when I need to go somewhere. I don't have a clothes dryer. I line dry my clothes. I reuse and recycle whatever I can. I conserve electricity whenever possible. For instance, I don't own a microwave. I'll reheat my coffee on the stovetop (which is gas). I don't know what is worse to use though....gas or electricity. I turn everything off when it's not in use.
