Isn't it good to find someone reliable?

I'd arranged for my mechanic to pick my car up at 8.30 this morning - he arrived early (unlike my previous one who would (maybe)turn up 2 or 3 days later). I asked if he could try to get it back for 2.30 as I had a hospital appointment. I said I could borrow my mum's if that wasn't possible. It was back on my drive by 12.30 Previously, he has driven to my workplace, collected my car keys from me, given me a lift to an out-patient appointment, driven to collect the necessary part, gone back to my car, fixed it, gone home and then come back at 4pm as I finished work to return my keys. Do you have someone reliable either for your car or some other service?

I have such a darling mechanic also. Isnt it great? He'll also supply a car for me if mine has to be in for too long. I also once had a garage lend me a car without charge when I needed a car to go to work and my husband needed the car to go for a course in town. He never wanted me to pay, he said he had cars sitting there so it was best they could be used. I bought him a good bottle of cognac as I knew he liked that stuff. Same for my exterminator, he says he'll be here at 3pm, well he's here smack on time. They make up for those who never show up or give you bull!!

Yes. Im really afraid of spiders or any other bugs so he comes over in spring and sprays the exterior and interior so I can live in peace and be able to walk out of the house in the summer. I used to work for an extermination company a while back as secretary and I know all about bugs and what stuff to use. I had to quit as it was driving me insane to know of how much bugs there were everywhere. Yes I need help when it comes to bugs, its a real phobia and its driving me insane at times lol. So I LOVE my exterminator.

Mine is a one-man "mobile" operation so he doesn't have spare vehicles but, luckily, my mum (and her car) live just 5minutes walk from me.

You live in a place where your mechanic will come and get your car? I want to live there...

Oh yes, he collects it, takes it for its MOT/services it/fixes whatever needs doing and brings it back.... He'll collect it from home, work, wherever... He does my mum's car too & he doesn't rip me off like the bloke at the garage did!

He certainly does and, if I'm not home when he brings the car back, he'll put the keys through the letterbox and wait for me to send him a cheque... and he sends us Christmas cards

I too have meet some dependable people. One of them is similar to what you have met... the mechanic. The thing is he has been my vehicle mechanic for the last 10 years. I can also just call him should I find myself having car trouble and often he goes to me or sends someone to look upon the trouble. Great thing is, he also does not charge to much as compared to other mechanic that I know.

My mechanic has just taken my car for repair.... needless to say, he arrived exactly on time. He charges less than other mechanics but I'm still not looking forward to the bill

He sounds like a lovely man! My one friend is in school for it right now and she fixes all the cars in my house. She's always there when she says and set me up with a great garage for problems she can't fix.

That's great that you have someone to fix your cars and, of course, because you are her friend and she has the knowledge, she can recommend other reliable people.
