Are you a person who loves having the latest device? When the Ipod came out, it was reported that the former Mayor of Philadelphia, was standing in line at 5 a.m. or so, to be one of the first to buy an Ipod. Are you a first in line person, and have to have in your possession, the latest techno thingee that is out? Share your experiences with must have gizmos.

To a gadget craze like me, of course I would want to always have the latest gadget. However, I won't go to the extent of queueing up in the early hours of the day just to buy the product on its first launch. I can always wait for the next day, anyway, sleep is more important.

....Hi myzire72, It is good to have something that makes you excited. I love to learn about the new things that are being developed, but I am not one to go out and immediately purchase them, I wait and I wait. It took me some 15 years to purchase a microwave, so you see where I am coming from. You gave me a good laugh with your "I can always wait for the next day" comment. You are funny. Thanks so much for your response, take care.

While my first impulse might be to go out and get the latest gizmos, I think that is never really a good idea. The reason for this is that I feel like despite the fact that it is new, new does not always mean better. There is a lot of old technology that works fine enough and in many ways, many times better than the latest items on the market. I think in our zeal to get the latest, newest items, many times, we tend to ignore that the items we have are getting the job done. And those new, great items might not be as great as we thought. There is always a chance that there are a lot of bugs to work out in the early going. I would rather get the item after it has been proven to work, instead of getting something that is quite defective. At least that's where I see things.

.....Hi there megamatt, You make very good sense. Running out to get the newest thing on the market, when it first hits the street can leave you very disappointed sometimes. It takes a while as you say, to work out the kniks and you are right, if you know something works well, newer is not always better. I love the demonstrations of the new Ipad, but at up to $800 a pop, even if I really wanted it, I would want to wait, to see what adjustments they are going to make or, if they are going to drop the price by $200 like they sometimes do. "o). Take care and thanks for stopping by.
