Hi friends,we all used to wait longingly for the summer vacations to start during school days.We all had some activity going on during that blissful period like going to cooler places like hill stations, or going for picnics to mountain, lakes, beach tourist spots. Some of you may have had other activities but there was always one activity that you could boast to your classmates on the first day of school after the vacs.we all did something or the other during those vacation days but there was one activity which all of us had to reveal when we joined school. We had to disclose how many movies we saw during the vacations and the one who saw the most was the uncrowned king of the class and would strut proudly before his classmates.Since in those days we had no entertainment like TV,computers, etc movies were the only outlet for us.I used to average 9 to 10 movies in the 2 months of vacations. though movie going was very cheap compared to the present, still it was a hard task for us to persuade our parents to part with the money to see films in theatres.the moneybags of our class were usually the winners and could ratchet up anything between 15 to 20 movies in those hols and they were the envy of our class. What about you folks? What was that activity you could boast of? Share it with us, old memories will come tumbling out and give you joy

I could boast of bunjee jumping. I like bunjee jumping. It's very exilirating and fun. You go up and down like you're gonna fall but you're not cuz you're gonna go up again.

Every summer when I was 8 until I was 13 meant going to the pool. My friends and I tried to be the first to be in the pool. When I was a teen , My family started going to the beach each year.

you must've had friends in school - I seldom had any that I hadn't already seen all summer... Nope, I didn't boast about anything - we did have TVs back when I was a kid, but I'm in the U.S.
We pretty much went swimming every day, lots of us went to visit family - we went to New Jersey to see our grandparents and family, and swim in the ocean - that got a few folks, and not just down to Galveston to swim in the Gulf either

During the days when I was in school, there were several things that we would all boast about after the summer vacation. I think that the most popular thing that we had to boost about was what trips we took during the summer.
Our family wasn't rich by any means, but we still did manage to take some summer vacations. The most memorable that I ever had was the summer before my senior year of high school, my brother and I went to Italy and Paris, France with a group of people from our church dioseces and got to go to World Youth Day, it was quite a great experience for us and it was something that many of our classmates envied.

If there was one experience I could boast off during the class, it was the time I climbed up Mt. Taal. Mt. Taal is a living volcano one of the most active in Philippines. I could boast this to my classmates because, I did not ride a donkey or a horse up the mountains unlike most people. It was a true test of heart and physical endurance. It proved that I had that much heart compared to my classmates who were just airheads and no money could buy heart and determination to go up by yourself despite everybody (donkey renters and other people) telling you in your face every step of the way that you can't make it. I climbed the mountain at 13 years old. I was the talk of the class for at least a week.
