My seven year old son is very intelligent, very good in school, has good relationship with friends and teachers, has a very good language skill,etc.etc. BUT HE IS VERY LAZY. He hate playing with ball. Whenever I bring him to the playground to play with ball, he sit on the ground and start to observe insects and living creatures. 'Hating sport' is that his nature? Is that a problem? Have I made a mistake

Dear John, do not worry about your son liking sport, you have no done anything wrong. maybe try asking him what sports he likes, there are many obscure ones without the need for a ball - darts for example. DOn't force him to play ball sports, some day he will enjoy one sport, or if he doesn't he can pursue his love for nature - maybe we have another Charles Darwin on our hands! Hope this helps Spursrule68

Thanking very much for your pleasing answer. Some times he is called by his friends 'girl' or 'lady'. That pains me a little. The adult's view and children's view are different . Aren't they? But i am sure, he has a manly mind. Once I was hospitalized. my 10 year old daughter had started to cry. But my son took it easy. he simply told "Mum will come back."
