With the current availability of movies online here and there, do you download them to watch afterwards in your pc or tv? I want to do it, however downloading is just so slow and it takes time to really download just one whole movie! Will still have to opt for renting dvds or cds in the local rental store. Only, its months later before the currents movies are available for rentals. What about you mylotters?

hello siliguri, maybe i just didn't worded it right... what i meant to say was, "are you guys doing it also like me?" ... my concern is the downloading time which is really, really eating up my connection, it slows down my page loading on other windows, and so most of the time, i gave up downloading. do you have any tips on how to improve downloading speed?

I personally watch the movies online. I don't download it because of my fear of viruses. It is cheaper to watch it online, it does take long to buffer, true but its cheaper than borrowing it in rentals :)

there's nothing really to be guilty about...it's practical and worth it. After all, when downloading you have to be patient coz it's so slow. We're in the high tech world, so who's to blame?

Hello jeanbu23, How are you doing? :) You know, there's always this issue of piracy which is against the law. Anyway, since you are downloading, may I ask, how long does it usually take you to download one movie? Because in my internet connection, its just too slow , that I just have to give-up! :)

Talking about a guilty by downloading a movie or music is still on debate nowadays, i think it is depends on the warning messages on the label, if copying, distribute, or even selling and breaking the law, it was guilty ... i don't know about watching it online ... it's better watch it on cinema, dvd or cd, but no one prohibited somenone to watch online, so happy watching

Hi Maxilimian, That is so true. The topic is indeed controversial. While it is considered illigel, almost everyone is guilty of doing it, at one point of their life. Anyway, it really depends on the person, and what he/ she thinks the responsibility is. I prefer to watch it on cinema (big screen), if I know that the movie is really, really good,, its worth watching, and the reviews from my friends are okay too. :)

I download movies in the net. I still buy dvd's but sometimes i just feel like downloading cuz i got too many dvd's piled in my home. I'd rather store it at my computer temporarily, then delete it after i've watched it.

Hello Fronvisions101, Thats another downside in downloading movies, as the file sizes are really big, and since it took time to download them, its hard to just delete them afterwards.. Unless there's extra external harddisk so to speak just for the movies... :)

i just opt for the pirated copies. In most cases, i usually wait for a movie to be shown on cable TV after a few months. I have not tried downloading anything from the internet yet for fear of viruses.

I used to download movies, games and softwares online before when I had good internet connection. But now that I have poor connection then I prefer to copy from my friends Pc. He's the downloader now, not me. So sue him. lol

I watch them online :) I can sometimes watch movies ahead of its regular showing. But if the movie is really good, I download them. There's a risk for virus but if i got into a user that provides non virus files, i look into theirs, if they have the movies i like. :)

Hi sweechi! Welcome to mylot! Hope you enjoy your stay here! :) When you download a movie, how long does it take you to finish one movie download? Is your internet speed fast? Mine is really, really slow, I could always give-up! :(

I usually download movies from the internet because it's cheaper and more convenient. There are tons of dvds out there, but most of them are poor in quality. I can choose to download the clearest versions online and then save them on my hard disk and watch them whenever i feel like watching. It's true that downloading takes a great deal of time, sometimes as long as a week. But i just download movies whenever my computer is not occupied. So i have many choices when i want to watch movies.

Yeah, as far as I am concerned, I think it is not guilty for me to download the movis from the Internet t,which is a very good place for us to log in everyday. I think we can benefit a lot from the Internet. If we just regard ourselves guilty, what can we do with the Internet?

I like to watch movie in DVD because I can watch it when ever I want. My download speed is very slow, so its not a good option to download movie in internet. Its cheaper to borrow a DVD than buy it especially if you borrow it from a friend. If I really wanna to watch a movie and my friend say it really good I will go to movie theater.

i prefer downloading them rather than streaming, but i usually do this for old movies. the new ones i prefer to watch in the cinemas, with friends if possible because i find it more enjoyable. i never had the patience to wait for a movie to buffer and would prefer to watch it without interruptions, which is why i want it downloaded :)

I prefer downloading movies over the net rather than buying pirated dvds. I got sad when mininova closed. Lol. It was my favorite site where all recent and 10/10 AV versions of movies were available in that site. But suddenly it was banned. It was closed since it was illegal. But anyway there are still available sites which offers free downloads of movies. :) The length of downloading a movie depends on the speed of your internet connection anyway.
