If you died tonight, would you die happy?

I'd explain the question further, but I'd rather keep it simple. You'll die while you're sleeping so it won't hurt don't worry about that. I wouldn't die happy. I'm too young, too unaccomplished, and too confused. Your thoughts?

Well if I was to die tonight it would put me out of my worries. So I guess I would die happy. I have had a somewhat happy life with alot of experiences. I also had the privilege of seeing my granddaughter grow in the past 4 years spending most of the time together. So for that I'm very grateful. So yes I will be happy if this was my last day.

Aw, that's so nice to hear. I'm glad you have something to look forward to like seeing your granddaughter. And it's good for you too that you realize how significant your family's life is. I think that makes you more content. Some people don't. They aren't happy even when they have sons or grandsons and everyone ends up feeling miserable. This IS a complicated place and you have shined a good light on it that it is also somehow as simple as a granddaughter turning 4. I wish you many more years to enjoy your life and enjoy it with your family. You sound like a cool grandmom, someone who's got it down. ^^ I am happy that you are happy, I hope to reach your level of serenity someday. :)

This earth DOES have a lot to offer. :) Any things in particular that you enjoy that keeps you feeling alive? I suppose it's just a matter of dying at the right moment. ^^

I will be very happy because I can't tolerate this heat anymore... Its almost 44 degrees here... Moreover I have my exams this week... My 2nd Slot test is about to start... And I have my Semester Exams next month... So if I die I won't have to study!!! :D But on the other hand I am young and I have many things to experience in life... So I guess If I die I will have certain wishes left!!! I better wait till I am contented with what I have done and after that I will die... Lolz.. :D

Lol I didn't realize the weight of exams on a student I've forgotten it already. I remember that feeling now! Dying does seem a little brighter sometimes than a 350 page book. But hang in there! Work your butt off and make your money! I'm sure you will live a long and happy life you sound like a cheerful guy and it seems you have your act together. I know you're only kidding about the exam thing as was the girl a few posts above you, @mesmerizer. :) Come to think of it, both of you are having heat and exam problems. I think you should ask the lady for a nice study group for two in a nice airconditioned study room. Maybe that will get you both motivated to study. Lol! Just kidding you two. Good luck with the tests!

Couldn't have put it better myself, Auntiescarf. There are ups and downs in everyone's lifetime. And since the end is not predicted when it will happen, you can only hope and change your perspective from what you haven't done yet to what you have done already. I am glad to hear you are taking your past well, not many others are strong enough to do so. And I am happy to hear that you are and have been happy up to this point. :) Thank you for your uplifting perspective these were great responses I hope these responses can affect others positively as it did me. :) May more blessings come to you and I wish you a long and happy life!

Very introspective, I like that. :) I guess I'm starting to feel the same after reading your responses. I'm sorry to hear your school years weren't great. I did ok but I didn't fancy those years that much either, so awkward! And it is true, college or after college was much much better. I'm even starting to think that it gets better despite these stupid things we have to deal with each day. How can it not be when there's a pattern right there? But yours is a good way of looking at it. Thanks for your response it's a great addition here! +!

The reason I mentioned my school years was to show that everyone has times in their lives that they would say were not the best, for me it was school, for others it was something else, but when I was in school I thought that things were never going to get better, how wrong I was! Like I said Ive had a blast since then, Ive had so much fun and enjoyed my life so much, and met loads of amazing people so if things were to end I hope it would be of a tiny comfort to my parents that I have had all these enjoyable experiences, to know that I had started going for the things that I want, even though theres still lots that I want so ok I would be a little annoyed lol! But I would be happy with all the fun times Ive had.

If I die today I would be very happy. Not because I want to die or I dont have anything to live for,its just that me exams are coming up in two days and I dont know a word.To make things worse, its so hot out here that I dont even feel like studying:(

Lol exams ARE the worst. :p I never study for those either. Unless I have to and that's all very last minute. I shiver at the thought of sheets of paper in front of me again asking me questions that have nothing to do with real life! I hope your enjoying school those are some of the best years. Exams wouldn't make me die any happier though failing on a test ain't that bad... c'mon now. ^^ You will ace that test! I feel it! And if I'm wrong you'll still ace it cos I said so. Tell your professor I SAID SO. Hahahaha lol. Good luck! :)

I wont be happy if I die tonight as I have not accomplished my goal which is to be an unknown millionaire philanthropist helping the real poor and needy and trying to eradicate poverty as much as possible

Although I'm not fussed when I die (I'm not afraid to die either) I am worried about how the people who care about me (few and far between as they are) will be upset.

i would be ok with it because the promise of heaven would be way better than the pain i suffer here on earth. sure there are things that i would still love to do (like travel to Paris) and watch my daughters grow up and get married but heaven is a wonderful place!

Yeah it kinda sucks down here sometimes I know. And heaven does sound good... :) I'm glad to hear that you have daughters, I can only imagine the joy you feel even when their screaming lol. I have nephews, I feel the same way about them. ^^ How old are they? I'm sure you will live long and get to see your daughters grow up and get married. I wish you so! You sound like a great mom. :) So, for now, we make our plans... Who doesn't want to see Paris? I'd love to go there and get totally snobbed by the people there lol! At least that's what I heard, I'm just preparing myself. :P Great post, cher913! I never imagined when I posted this question that it would generate answers that affect me this much. Thank you very much for your perspective. Made me take a nice deep breath... :)

Well this can be real simple yet complicated question, but I like the thought that I'm going to die peacefully and not like those who met a terrible and bloody accident. I prefer to die that way. Well to answer your question, yeah I will be happy to die tonight because at this moment in my life, I could say that I am on the right track and doing good so If ever I won't able to finish what I've done at least I give my best.

I'm with you meowcow. I'm too young and I have my children to live for. There are so many things in the world that I want to do and see. I bet I have a sleepless night now after thinking about this one! LOL!

Lol yeah after reading a couple of the other responses it made me feel a little bit bad cos the topic's kind of 'dark'. But at the same time it generated some awfully inspiring stories as well so I regret nothing! :P It's a hard balance to keep, being content enough to stay happy, and being hungry enough to stay alive. I battle with it every minute. Good to hear you have so much to live for it sounds like you're having fun. :) I, on the other hand, still have mountains to climb. But after reading a couple of the responses I'm starting to think that maybe no matter where you are what point you're at, it's the way you look at it at the end if you choose to appreciate the existing truths you have now. Anyway, I am so so sorry if ever I did give you a sleepless night. Now I feel like Freddie Kruger. Lol! For that, I wish you well, a long life, and to see everything you want to see. :) Bless you and your family! +!

Although i know that we should be ready to die anytime , i do believe that if i die tonight i wont be happy at all, because theres just so much more that i want to accomplish theres so much that i want to do with my life. Theres so much that i want to try and so many people that i want to help. I want to serve my family even more, those kinds of stuff that im still thinking bout , thats why if i die this night i dont think i will be able to say that im going to die happy at all

Tell me about it. You basically just elaborated what I was thinking when I was writing up the details to this post. I was thinking about how ineffective I still am in terms of helping out. I'm not saying we're poor but we're not exactly rich either. Of course, naturally we all want better for ourselves and for our families. When I posted this topic, I was thinking of how sad it would be too. Because I haven't accomplished, still young, etc etc... But after reading some of the responses other people gave here. Generously sharing their stories, I must say I found a new appreciation for the things I have now and the things I have already accomplished. I suggest you give them a read, and maybe it can also help with your perspective of things as it did mine... I wish you well my friend! May we all find what we are looking for. :)
