I have not seen any, thank God, but I guess I would just go dead-frozen where I'm standing at the sight of it. Describe how you felt when you saw one.

When I was in was 18 years old, I witnessed how my 5 year old cousin was hit by a passenger bus. It happened so quickly that I didn't realize that it's over. It seems that everything in me has decided to stop working, my brain and it seems that I have lost all the energy to move when I saw my cousin was already on the other side of the road bleeding. It was terrible and terrifying. I even blamed myself for what had happened because I was the one who was with her.

I am very sorry for what happened to your cousin. It is indeed terrible to witness things like that happen to someone from our own family.

You are right. It's terrible and I didn't have enough sleep for almost a year because of what had happened. My cousin was the closest to me and I haven't understood why it's should have to be me who was with her on that fateful day.

We do have things we regret upon but somehow we have to spring up from all those bitter feelings and quit blaming ourselves. Your cousin's time was up and that is beyond your control. Just remember all the fond memories of her, that's what she would have wanted instead of you feeling sorry for what happened when you are not supposed to.

which one? The time a car ran a stop sign and slammed into another car - happened so fast I couldn't have told you which car was at fault fortunately nobody was seriously hurt, tho they were seriously shook up. Then there was the time the train hit the truck - that seemed to take place in slow motion - I could see it was going to happen, and the truck just sat there, with its fender over the track - again, no one was seriously hurt http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1996006.aspx And THEN there was the time this gal first ran out of an apartment complex, barely 20 yards in front of me, got to the corner of one of the busiest roads in Austin (tho it was only about 6 a.m. and not busy then) barely slowed down and got broadsided by another car - then the stupid b... ninny got out and was walking around until I sent someone out there to tell her to get back in her car. (told the police and the EMS guys the same thing too - I think she was trying to say she hadn't gotten out and the other guy was saying she did) And then we get to the ones I've been involved in - and that's a WHOLE 'nother story!

You know, I have not seen any accidents up front. However, I have come close to witnessing them a lot of the times. I mean really close to witnessing one and forbid being involved in it. Had I been like about five minutes late, I would have been completely in the thick of things. I breathed a sigh of relief when I was not anywhere near there. I think one of the only too close for comfort ones occurred when there was a nasty accident where there were several cars totaled and if I am remembering quickly, a couple of causalities. It happened anywhere from after about five minutes after I got home, close to my house. So I really dodged the bullet by not seeing that. That is perhaps the closest that I have gotten to seeing an accident.

More like a close encounter but not so close! Anyway, I recalled one incident sometime in the past when I almost witnessed a bank robbery which got one of the security guards killed when he was hit with a bullet on the head. I was in the scene half an hour later, clueless and oblivious, and was wondering why there were blood all over the pavement. The next day, I heard of the horrible news on the radio.

I haven't seen one. If it was a deadly accident I would probably go into shock! A few weeks ago my Dad who is a school bus driver came within minutes of seeing a deadly accident. A pick-up truck got hit by a semi and the truck bursted into flames. My Dad turned off the street where the accident happened to pick up a kid in the neighborhood and when he came back from picking the kid the truck was already on fire. There was another bus with kids on it that witnessed the accident. So sad!

It wasn't really an accident, I wouldn't call it that. When I was in college, me and my 2 friends Cecille and Maricar were walking along a street near our school. Suddenly, 2 guys riding in a motorcycle were grabbing Cecille's hand bag. They were like playing tag because Cecille wouldn't let go of her bag, and as a result she was dragged on the street by the motorcycle and fell on her face. Maricar and I were so shocked, everything happened too quickly that we just stood there and weren't able to move. When the motorcycle drove ahead, Cecille was left lying faced down on the ground. The bag still in her hand, the 2 snatchers were not able to get it. We rushed immediately to her side and helped her up. She had a lot of wounds and bruises, and we treated her when we got to her boarding house. I could never forget that incident. I realized that my reflexes are very slow, I wasn't able to move when it happened and I just stood there in shock. Now that I come to think of it, I wish I was a quick thinker, I could have kicked the motorcycle so it would fall down. There were a lot of people in the area who saw everything, we all could have beaten those snatchers and hand them to the police. But it happened, and there was nothing we could do.

FRIENDS Cecille and Maricar??? Hmmmmp! Hahaha, sore jealous! Anyway, well, I don't blame you. Everyone gets frozen except action stars! I do confess being petrified in virtually anything scary that comes my way. One time, I went up to my dark bedroom alone. Unknowingly, my cabinet door with the mirror on it was left open so I didn't quite expect to meet up with the mirror by the time I came in. I was laughing at myself afterwards because I swore I saw my wide-eyed, and gasping reflection on the mirror when I turned on the lights.

Dear friend, I hope two years back I saw an accident which I would even feel that impact of terror in my heart. I just saw a bus went over a girl who just fell in front of the wheels of that bus which went over her head. I was just standing beside that, the head just exploted and the fleshes were fallen all over the road. It was some thing terrific.

But how come you're smiling?, and saying that it's terrific? You can't possibly smile at something like that. I do hope you didn't mean to. Perhaps you meant the word "terrible" instead of "terrific".

hi theresaaiza I was standing in line a few years back waiting to deposit some money when I glanced out the wide glass doors. there at the entry to Harbor Blv. mall was two cars that were trying to dodge each other when the little car dodged around the SUV and the SuV turned over and spun several times before it stopped. I just reached the cashier as the van turned over. I said loudly call the police and 911 there is a van upset at the entrance to our mall. So the cashier did just that. I had to walk that way to get back to my apt. so I got to see them take six people out of that van, some were just slighly dazed but three were p;ut on stretchers and loaded into three separate ambulances. I read about this later that week, and only one was really bad , the driver suffered a punctured lung and was hospitalized. all the others were fixed up and sent home, mostly bruises and one broken arm and one broken wrist. as i had been a nurses aide for years, I was not that scared and was glad I had a hand in getting them all help at once.

Yes, three times. The first time, I was almost involved in the accident but was lucky enough to get out of the way. Someone was tailgating me in the fast lane until I was able to move over to the slow lane to let the idiot pass me. The idiot then sped up to tailgate he person who had been in front of me. She began moving over into the slow lane to let the idiot pass but the idiot apparently thought she was too slow and tried to speed up to go around her. Unfortunately, the idiot's car clipped the other gal's car and both went spinning off in different directions. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid becoming involved in this. I did stop, though. I looked over at the idiot, who had gotten out of her car to inspect the damage to her car (it seems that was more important to her than seeing if the other gal was hurt... sad, huh?). I saw that she was fine so I went up to the gal whose car was hit and asked her if she was okay. After she said she was only shaken, I gave her my name and phone number in case she needed a witness and it's a good thing I did. The idiot tried to say that it was the other gal's fault! I was called in to testify and, luckily, the idiot was found guilty. The second and third accidents I witnessed were pretty much identical: some idiot was speeding through an intersection to "beat the light" but actually drove right through a red light and hit the car in front of me. Again, I had to slam on my brakes to avoid becoming involved in the accident, both times. Oddly enough, both of these accidents were also witnessed by police officers so I wasn't needed as a witness. It is kind of paralyzing, isn't it? I don't think our brains are equipped to handle this kind of split-second mess happening, so we become somewhat frozen on the spot. I HOPE I never witness another one!

It's really a great thing to know that you have very fast reflexes, like when you hit your brakes. I don't know how to drive and when my boyfriend tried to teach me, whenever I panicked, I just lose all control of my limbs....It's like the 4 of them (arms and legs), all just go moving without coordination with my brain. In fact he teased me, saying that one time I even closed my eyes. I don't know what I would do confronted with situations that require quick reflexes.

Besides seeing some one marrying some one they shouldn't? Yes, years ago I saw a very bad traffic accident. When it happened, it was over in a flash, but the memory has remained in minute detail, as though in slow-motion. After it happened, I watched the news for days hoping to see that those involved were ok. But there never was any coverage. Always wondering probably has lead to more detailed memories. I hope you never see anything so horrible!

Besides seeing some one marrying some one they shouldn't? Hahaha, can anything be worse than that? You're so silly. No wonder why we're buddies. And yes, they always seem to happen in slow-motion when we recall them. Is that one of the brain's mechanisms for us to register and digest the details in an agonizing, scene by scene manner?

yes but not accidents... executions and cunning. here, it is being shown and held publicly. sometimes at the crossing in the middle or red taffic lights from all both sides.. sometimes at the plaza. i was shocked seeing those executions during my first time, got a dismal sleep, and a repeated scenario always coming back on my mind when eating. i think after witnessing several times, i got heart problem. i'm afraid to go beyond insanity if i will watch again..lol,,,

Oh that was terrible, but it's good to hear that you are fine now. I was hit by a motorcycle before. I was crossing the street and he was approaching at me fast after turning from the corner. We both lost estimate of our distance and hit each other. It was a good thing that he was just starting to pick up speed so he was not that fast enough. He hit me nonetheless but at least the collision didn't send me flying to the air. I just fell down barely hurt.

I once saw a dog being run over and killed by a car. It was a Great Dane who just suddenly ran out into the traffice. I like dogs and it was a horrible experience. I once came across an accident that had already happening. I could see police cars and an ambulance in the distand and started to walk towards it, then I saw blood that was running down the road and someone walking the other way just said, "you don't want to see that believe me" so I turned back got in my car and drove the other way. _Derek

ive seen a lot in front of me, from cars to just people being hit by things. one of the crazest car accident ive seen was a bmw hited these two other cars right in the midddle of both then flipped over and hit another car well it was upsdie down. which pushed that car into the intersection which cause the car that passed me and my friend up that hitted that car. the bmw was going over 100 mph then last year well help a friend to cut down part of a big branch that felled in his yard, i told him to move he told me to shut up, he was 3 feet to the left of me, and when the branch hitted him he flew by me and ended three feet to the right of me. he was really lucky

I'm standing at the side of a major street holding my soft drink and snack. Then came a tricycle running westward. There's a crossing about 30 yards to the west. The tricycle had a constant speed and whined scandalously. A young boy drives his bicycle and never stopped at the crossing. Then, the collision occurred, the boy was thrown off from his bicycle, a nearby man helped the him. I saw it all but it was too fast to register. The tricycle failed to avoid him as it was heavily loaded. The boy cried but no blood from him scratches maybe. I went near and everyone gathered as though a ufo landed but I think I was the alien as I have softdrink and snack.
