Should Mikey be disqualified

Okay, so we have all heard that presidential son Mikey Arroyo is the first nominee of a party-list representing the security guards. Outgoing chief justice Panganiban said that party-list nominees should belong to the party-list group sector. Disqualification charge is filed against him on the ground that he is not a security guard. Mikey disagrees and points out that he has appeared in various movies as security guard. Well, not really. He says that Comelec does not have the power to disqualify him (Ok, who then? Is there a security guard heaven?). What do you think? Should Mikey be allowed to represent security guards? Or is this another attempt to subvert the constitution and the law? Does Mikey look like any security guard you know?

mikey is definitely not qualified for that coz he's not representing the marginalized sector of our poor society.( especially in the field of our brother security guard.)

I do not know why he thinks that he can be their party-list representative. The problem is that the law does not necessarily say that the representative will have to be from a marginalized sector. I think he interpreted this to mean that he can form an association representing the marginalized. The association will not necessarily comprise of marginalized sector, they just represent them. If he can bastardize this process, who knows what else he is capable of?

hi advocate, you know what if our government will let Mikey Arroyo lead the Security Guards, we also let the Arroyo Administration in control of the philippines, They are Evils..Arroyo are Evils, The main goal of little Arroyo "sorry for saying this I have no respect with our So called Corrupt President" aims to be a Prime Minister of this country, Why is this happening to our country because we dont fight back we just let things happen because we are self centered.. I have so much about Arroyo Family.. They should be driven to Hell. i JUST HATE THEM so mUCH...grhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Like you I have no respect for the Arroyos. On top of my list is Mikey Arroyo who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Imagine passing himself off as a security guard as a way to get around the party list system. He knows that he will not win as Senator and so he chooses to remain in Congress.

philippine politics has been a mockery since the marcos-era. since then, we never have recovered the politics in the 50s until 60s when statemanship was the order of the day. for example, celebrities such as movie, TV and sports stars are entering politics because they are popular, not because they can offer the best public service to the people. and the partylist is a very and noble idea, but has been bastarded by the arroyos. come on, mickey who is going to represent the security sector and dato, a non-bicolano, who represents the 2nd district of cam. sur. please people, wake up.

Amen to that. The party-list system is suppose to be set aside for the marginalized and the under-represented. He probably thought he could get away with it. He thinks people are not watching. As for Dato, I heard that they even created another district for him. Hmmm, gerrymandering for a presidential son, not a good sign.

You're in the majority. I don't know anyone who likes him.
