Virender Sehwag named Wisden's Leading Cricketer for the year 2009. It is second time he has been awarded it. He won it in 2008 also. The award was started in 2004 and six cricketers have won it so far. Unlike Wisden cricketers (5 players) of the year award, this award can be given more than once. His outstanding batting in Test Matches was better than 2008 and he scored at a strike rate of 108 plus in Tests! Dilshan and Strauss were in the run but finally they couldn't overhaul Sehwag. Congrats to Sehwag! Share your views... Happy Mylotting!

Congratulations to Sehwag for retaining his Wisden award from last year. He is one of the reasons why India are on the top of the Test pile. He is a phenomenal test player who can change the state of the game in a single session as he displayed against England last year. More than anything that might have convinced the Wisden panelist to give the award to Sehwag. Cheers! Ram

Yes, Sehwag's 293 against Sri Lanka was one such innings where he turned a possible drawn match into a win for India! That is what separates Sehwag from others. Happy Mylotting!

And what's more it was at more than run a ball ensuring that India had enough time to go on and win the match easily. Cheers! Ram
