What is a captcha code?

I am new to a lot of sites. Gagabux says i did not use the captcha code. What is this?

They are images (for gagabux) or numbers/words (for other sites) where you need to type the same number/words you see in a box or drag object to the circle in gagabux case. You need to do this in order to log in to any site.

It is the code you need to enter before you are log in to your account. It is used to make sure that the user is a real human and not just a program.
