Do you think Kate Gosselin is using her children?

I was watching Inside Edition, and in the continuing drama in Kate's life, her own brother thinks that she is using her children. Her brother and sister-in-law appeared in a public hearing on legislation relating to child labor and said that there were a lot of times that the children did not want to be filmed, and there were times when there were inappropriate filming and no adult was present in the room. In your opinion, is Kate using her children to be on television? Do you enjoy watching the show? Should there be legislation regulating reality shows?

But really now, would she and her ex-husband have had reality show if they didn't have 8 children? I don't think so. There are child labor laws including some specific laws (probably done on a state by state basis) regulating children used in movies and TV. For exzample, babies can only be filmed for a set period of time (in California?). That's why they often look for identical twin babies for sme roles. Obviously with twins they can film twice as long. Although a little older, the Olson twins startd out by boh playing the sam character.

I don't know if the public hearing was just a stunt for some publicity because I would think that the US, being a superpower, would have all sorts of laws in place to protect children. It would surprise me if the government is allowing child labor in their very own backyard when they oppose this kind of slavery elsewhere. I was surprised to learn though that Kate's children did not have work permits.

I have been watching Jon and Kate plus 8 for years and honestly, I dont think she's using her kids. a lot of people have been judging her, like they're perfect parents or something. maybe we should just let them be who they want to be.

Ouch, did not think I was coming off as judgmental :) Yeah, I'm one to talk when I don't have kids myself and so I really do not know what kind of struggles she's going through. I suppose though, that's the price of fame. We get to judge them, after all she's getting paid for it. :)

Gee, now Kate Gosselin has another book out. Again I say, would anybody care if they didn't have 8 kids and the show as never made?

i think there are such legislations there almost the same as here: it should be proven that the family cannot really raise the kids well on the present income, laws on no. of working hours of the kids and i believe, in the u.s. it is a crime to spend the earnings of the working kid unless otherwise it is the kid who would use it and it is mandated that a certain amount be set aside for the future.
