The Mexican Drug War is an armed conflict taking place between rival drug cartels and government forces in Mexico. Mexican drug cartels now dominate the wholesale illicit drug market in the United States. Arrests of key cartel leaders, particularly in the Tijuana and Gulf cartels, have led to increasing drug violence as cartels fight for control of the trafficking routes into the United States. There have been over 20,000 killed in this war since 2006. If wholesale civil war should break out, millions of Mexican Nationals will swim across the Rio Grande, and there will be no way to send them back! In 1922 Prohibition was written into law in the US. This law banned the sale manufacture and transportation of Liqu0r. Shortly after the law went into effect rum runners, bootleggers, and mobsters, fought with police, for control the liqu0r trade. This law lasted 14 years before it was abandoned as hopeless, in 1933. As time goes by the Mexican Drug War (as yet only fought in Mexico) will increasingly involve the US. Illegal Immigrants will flood into the US. American citizens will be killed, and the US will become involved at a great cost in lives and money. Will the US admit to being the market for the drugs, and do the right thing by legalizing illicit drugs in the United States?

It is a problem of humanity. It is a problem for all of us. It is a global problem. And with globalization now it can reach to anywhere in the world in the shortest time possible. In our very own small way, we should report to the authorities of any suspicious activities in the neighborhood. Being alert helps to diffuse an otherwise big problem. I think all countries should work together in an international cooperation to find a solution to this global menace rather than being involved in an arms race.

I agree that locally as well as Globally there is a general feeling that personal greed in Business and Government is OK (as long as it's secret). Obviously people know better, but society as a whole, and people in general, lack the basic spiritual teaching, " Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you!"
