How do you save up money for a Disney World trip?

Right now I'm planning a trip next summer with my boyfriend after I graduate from college. I'm starting to try to make money to pay for my portion of the trip now. Has anyone else tried to make money online to help pay for a Disney trip? How did that go for you? Any advice? Thanks for your time!

We've been saving money for a cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary next November (2011) We have a coffee cup by the bedside. Each night, we empty out the change in Mike's pockets and my purse. we only use paper bills to pay for something when we purchase something. When the cup gets full, we take it to the bank, cash it in and put it in savings. I've been surprised at how fast it has added up.

I have been going to WDW since I was 4 years old and have been going with my husband since 2006. In that time we have learned a few things. Number one- book wit the dining plan so your food is paid for up front. Next- decide how much you need for your room and souvenirs (and flight if you need to) and divide that amount by the number of months until your trip and decidhe how much per week you can put away (I get paid every 2 weeks so we put away more money on those weeks since there are 2 paychecks those weeks) Then- if you are staying at a a disney resort- this is a money managment tip- bring a minimal amount in cash and tell the front desk to tie your debit card to your room key and tell them a maximum amount (the amount you want to spend) and charge to your key. That way you can check in at the desk and keep close tabs on what you spend while still being able to relax. The saving change is a GREAT tip too!

I worked very very hard and made the trip for my college graduation present to myself as well. Worth every penny and I can't wait to return...I loved it so much I am moving down there! I know its been awhile, but from the timeline it looks like you would still be saving. If there is something at the store that you want but dont need, think about it. Would you rather have that, or a picture of you riding Tower of Terror? (or whatever ride you are wanting to go on) In the end, that saved me a lot of money and I had the time of my life!
