does signing time work for your baby?

when my child was still a few months old, my husband already started collecting videos to show for our baby. one of the things or videos that he collected was the signing for babies--as in the use of sign language so that we can better understand children in case they don't know how to speak yet. at first, my child was not interested in videos. she would rather read books. eventually though, she got hooked. but it is not just any signing video but the Baby Signing Time video series. how about you? did you also engage your child in sign language? did you show sign language to your children? we have effectively understood our child because of sign language. she makes her own signs as well as uses the signs in the videos. but then again, she learned to speak quite early. so at least we know what she wants. howabout you? any experience regarding this matter? thank you for your comment./ :D
