Smart dressing with a smart personality is what looking good means to me, just buying expensive clothes and wasting money is not my cup of tea. i buy cheap clothes but something which fits well and gives me that smart look is what i desire buying. What does looking smart mean -expensive clothes or clothes that looks good on you.

depends on what i'm buying, i've got some jeans there. they were expensive to buy but also they last, is another thing your making an investment when you buy clothes that are more expensive. but some cheap clothes will last a long time and still look good, i tend to try and buy things on special. i've got a nice pair of black pants i've had over 10 yrs now, picked them up for i think under $20, orignaly. worn them every where and then got to big for them, now can get back in to them again.

I didnt think of jeans, I agree, paying extra for jeans is a very good investment as they do last longer if they are a decent pair and then they are worth the money. Sorry just wanted to jump in to say I agree!

Clothes is not everything, but it is a good start. Regardless how smart a person is when he/she speaks, but when she/he is waring shabby clothes, you wouldn't think the person is professional. Further, no matter how fancy the clothes are, when the person has no class in the way he/she speaks or acts then all the money won't make him/her look good. Unless the person shuts his/her mouth and no words comes from his/her mouth. As for looking good. For me it's about how a person is neat and presentable. Smiles, looks happy and seems happy in the way he/she talks, walks, and does things. We must all admit that society is ruthless in judging people. We can't project ourselves as someone looking good without watching what we're wearing. Flashy brands usually solves this part, but there are just people whose skin and manner can make the expensive things look cheap. I know of a person in our class way back in high school. The parents are filthy rich, so he is given huge amounts for his allowance. Regardless how many times he would flash his bills and gadgets, I could never see him as rich. He was poorly mannered. Posture is bad. Overall, he never projected 'wealth' no matter how he wanted to. Similarly, I have a friend who's fond of Tiffany & Co.'s jewelry, but they look cheap on her. I don't mean to be insulting the person, but it's just her skin tone. I think silver and white gold jewelries just don't look well on her. But there are people who aren't really flashy but they look neat all the time. Even when they wake up each morning. I think it's out of habit. That was my first reaction when I saw my boyfriend. He's just neat all the way, and is still neat. It's the way the person carries himself or herself I guess. Remember that class can't be bought. But it could be practiced and learnt.

to look at least presentable enough... it does't have to be branded or expensive.. as long as it fits you and you appear presentable on it, then you are looking good...

We have the same point of view niits. Even you buy expensive clothes but you didn't dress it smartly, its not good to look at. I don't against to those who have branded mentality as long as they have but financially wise deals great to me that's why I prefer cheaper clothes that fits me will and comfortable.

For me looking good is having a simple dress and as what you have said, with smart personality.to elaborate, for me smart personality is having the good heart,a down to earth person,a person with sense of humor and an individual not actually intelligent but knowledgeable.

Clothes that highlight my features, disguise my imperfections (like tummy bulges), and are flattering. They don't necessarily have to be expensive. They could be cheap, just right, or a little expensive but not that expensive, or something that I'll have a hard time paying for if I use my parents' credit card. hehe.

Looking good means just that---looking good. It is the total package consisting of neatness, appropriateness, taste. A person is said to be good-looking when he takes care of his appearance from head to foot, shoes shined, hair combed, clothes pressed, and smelling good.

I dont think smart clothes need to be expensive, I dont buy expensive clothes, I buy clothes that I think look good on me, they dont have to be expensive to be good quality. I once bought an expensive top, years ago, wore it twice and then was too afraid to wear it again incase I spoiled it. So I dont buy expensive clothes, why buy them if Im going to be afraid to wear them? I tend to be a bargain hunter, and I think I look smart. I dont think its very difficult to look smart.
