Does KKR have some chance?

India

Till now KKR is not out of the race for the semi finals. But it is going to be very tough for them to survive further. This seems possible only if the following three conditions are fulfilled: (a)Punjab has to beat Chennai (b)Delhi has to beat Deccan (c)KKR must beat the might Mumbai Indians with good margin. This seems not very likely to happen. But this is cricket where anything is possible. Just wait and watch. Today’s matches will decide the future of KKR in this edition of IPL.

Hi sanjeev yeah it's true that the first two factors that you stated will ahve to be fulfilled before the final match between the KKR and MI.However, though I am a die hard fan of KKR yet I don't think that KKR possess any chance. Now let me explain why:1)The form KingsXI punjab are in right now is pathetic and it will be almost impossible for them to overcome CSK.2) Deccan Chargers has a knack of lifting their gamea few notches in crunch situations and so DD can be overcomed by them.3)Mumbai is too strong a team and at the present moment at appears that everyone who is playing for MI is a match winner. However, having said all these things let me admit that today I am going to watch the games and hope that DC and CSK loses then KKR will only need to win against the MI to make it to the semis.I am putting my fingers crossed and at the same time I think KKR could have been in a better position had they not lost the game against KingsXI even after scoring 200 and also playing bad cricket against the RCB in Bangalore. If KKR don't make it to the semifinals then the game thast they lost against KingsXI can be termed as the turning point in KKR's advance to the next level.

Well the fight has began. Chasing a total of 193, CSK is 26/1 in 4 overs. It is not going to be an easy task for CSK to register a victory here against Punjab.... Good for KKR !!!

Hi sanjeev alas our prayers were left unanswered. However at the back of my mind I think that this is the right thing that should have happened as KKR don't deserve to be in the semifinals.A team that can't defend 200 runs in a t20 game and that too against a team that is morally down and out don't deserve to progress to the semis. It is a sorrow state to see the KKR not featuring in the semifinals even in thios third edition of IPL and I think that if they can't bring in quality domestic players then they will ever make it to the semis.

i think it is now impossible for KKR to qualify for semis as their NRR is -0.46 and if they defeat MI by a huge margin (say 50 runs )then also the NRR cant reach the +0.22,+0.27 of RCB and CSK respectively...

Yes still KKr have a chance to play the semi final in IPL 3 but the chance is too hard. Chennai and Deccan has to lose the game and KKR should win Mumbai with high run rate. Hope its difficult to them.
