I usually don't eat much and what is strange is that I hate sweet things and bread which are thought to be the most unhealthy things.I love doing different kind of sports and I cannot lose any weight.I don't know what is happenig to me.I went to a doctor and he said there is nothing wrong so I started wondering if someone else has this kind of problem. And what can I do about it?

It is possible that you are not eating enough to lose weight. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but when you don't eat enough calories your body goes into survival mode. THe body saves all your calories instead of spending them.I have found that I started losing weight when I started eating more. I added calories from healthy options and now I am steadily losing a little weight. I have lost over 10 pounds already and need to lose about 5 more before I am where I want to be.

hello macdingolinger, Your reply is interesting . I just wanted to know, when you say you added calories from healthy options, what exactly you mean. what kind of food you call healthy option. Can you please explain because I think I too have same problem, less eating more weight...... Thanks a lot.

I also think this is my problem because I don't really have enough time to eat when I have to and my body feels as if I don't want to give it enough food.

I know this feeling oh so well, and I hate it. No matter what I do I cannot lose weight, makes me want to starve myself.

right there buddy..nehmer instead of having two huge meals, make it like 4 small meals throughout the day. balancing you meals also play a major role in weight loss. even if eat two heavy meals you tend you put on more weight than eating 4 small meals as you tummy is occupied and doesn't store energy because of the long gap between your meal. there i have shared a secret which was part of my diet plan when i joined a gym :-)

hi, i m also have the same problem. i think it depends on our genetic matter{ gene} . your family members may have the same problem. other wise in our body fat utilization may be slow. for this you can take fiber foods, fresh juice items. liquids can avoid the fat settling . take care my friend.

I have the same problem. I think the thing is I'm not into drinking a lot of fluid so I don't sweat. I feel I don't burn calories from the food I eat.

If you aren't eating enough, your body starts to retain fats, in preservation to prevent starvation, so NOT eating enough will actually prevent your body from losing weight. You need to eat the proper foods, like lots of vegetables and fruits. They are full of nutrition, but not calories, or at least not bad calories like junk food has. I lost weight simply by changing the way I ate, the combinations of food that I ate, not by reducing volume at all. I bought a book called "Fit for Life" and it changed my eating habits, made me feel healthier, I was never hungry, yet I lost weight.

No. If you eat healthy and get the correct amount of exercise then you should either maintain or lose weight.

oh yeahhh... LOL. I don't know why I am still NOT on my best shape after months of depriving myself not to eat my most wanted food. LOL It was like in my genes (I guess), since both of my parents has history of over-weight issues (uncles, aunts), maybe that was one of the reason why it is hard for me to loose weight which is totally unfair! But you know, I also blame myself for not sticking to some exercises that I need to do and avoiding sweets is really a hard thing for me. I think choosing the right plan such as right exercise and the right food to take will make us more in good shape and healthy. I'm not really fat (if you know what I mean), but I guess the most important thing to consider is our health. I mean, whats better between skinny but unhealthy than to have some booody but strong and healthy right?! Happy Lotting!

As far as I am concerned, I think I am living a life, which is a little opposite to your situation ,which you have just said. For me, I usually eat a lot in my daily life, because I maybe become hungry easily. So I eat a lot in cae that I may not be hungry so easily. But as a result, I just can not gain weight. I am so wondering about this siyuation now. Now one can explain this to me now. I do not know where the food I used to eat do to.

People gain Weight 'cos of many reasons. It doesnt matter wheather he eat much or eat less it all depends upon Heridity, unbalanced eating habit from childhood, not practising enough excerise and lot more. so if you are cautious about your weight you can practise some mild excerise initially and can consult a nutrition to take proper nutritious food . This will keep you fit and healthy.

Losing weight and eating has little connection my dear. If stop eating, gas fills the stomach, you feel tired and without your knowledge you will start eating snacks, fruits, drink juices etc. This will increase your calorie. If you dont burn this calorie you are sure to gain weight. So if you want to lose weight first start eating!!!!!!!!!! Keep the time. Dont eat anything at the spare time. Avoid tea and coffee too. One glass of juice is enough. limit the food but take it at correct intervals. Go for a half an hour walk or 15 min exercise. I bet you will lose your weight

hey mokka..i know that feeling..though i love stuffing myself with all the wrong things, at times i think hey i haven't eaten all that much but i've put on weight!! its probably that the quantity of your food intake would be less but then you might have eaten something fattening..say two slices of heavily buttered bread! you get my line of thought. just use bread as an example, i know you said i hate sweet things and bread. also another factor is exercise, your probably eating and then just going to bed or lazing around the whole day note doing anything. so there's no exercise for your body and noway to burn the fat as no energy has been expended. my advise would be watch what you eat and do a little bit of exercise even if its something as trivial as taking the stairs instead of the lift..good luck :-)
