In my country - Bulgaria more and more girls and guys strated to wear braces even if they don't have noticable teeth problems because in some fashion magazines they are presented as cool stuff. You can see people having braces in different colors. Are braces really fashionable everywhere because as far as I remember they used to be trandy in the US in the mid-90's or maybe I'm wrong about that?

They are considered fashionable by teenagers here, both guys and girls. But, like what you said, they are normally worn by those with noticeable teeth problems.

I was interested how's in other countries different from mine and you didn't mentioned your country. I wanted to know if that's a global trand or it's just local. Maybe 5 people could post saying it's fashionable or not and they are from one and the same country and they haven't mentioned that in their posts so that leads to wrong conclusions.

Its also the same way here in our country. Its a fashion statement and a lot of people think about it as something that will identify them in having a higher social status cause braces are really expensive so if you braces then people will know you got the money.

I don't see the point of using braces if no teeth problem is visible, but teens tends to follow every cool stuff so they can be cool enough to friends. Here at my country is not that popular, but I've seen that many Brazilian girls wear it.

Well, I didn't know that braces are a fashion statement especially in other countries. But anyway, I also have braces and its only because I need to correct my teeth problems. I have, what we call in the Philippines, "sungki-sungking ipin" or simply "sungki" which are teeth overlapping each other and can be cause by the growth of the permanent tooth on the same area of the milk tooth. :)
