Why do they have to tell lies just for the other not to feel bad and for the lier to look good.... Like a politician perhaps who tells promises... blah, blah blah and stuffs..... and like our parents who always tells us that we're nice, gorgeous and everything even if we're..... uh..... nevermind.... So, why is it that they have to lie??? (scratch the latter example..... )

Hi, They have to lie because they are just afraid to face the reality. But being afraid and saying nice things are two different things. One can say nice things because one believes that they are that way. There are positive minded highly motivated people who can only see the positive side of things. It is not that they totally overlook the negative side, but they believe that its the positive side that keeps them going. This is not any form of lying. Lying is telling something different or opposite to what you personally believe or perceive. Truth is the information you receive through your senses, and since these senses can't be depended upon, your perception of truth can't be considered absolute. But reproducing the information without significant destruction of data is what we call telling the truth. It is totally dependent on the person as he is being the medium of this exchange. He may have a motif to accomplish. Even then he is doing it because he is afraid that the truth may not give you the desired result. Thanks God bless you

No. Its better to be honest as this is the most peaceful way of living your life. After all, you have to have a good night's sleep.

People usually lie because the truth hurts, as they say. Either it hurts them so they will not let other people know about it, or they think it will hurt the person they will tell it to so they'd just keep the truth to themselves thinking it would be better that the other person doesn't know.

Yup... and it's better to be hurt by the truth than forever living in a lie.... right???
