we all know oishi is the best maker of prawn crackers. well, in my humble book that is. however, if you are keenly sensitive about anything and everything you'd realize that oishi is now doing cereals and chocolate drinks. but have you tasted their vegetarian chicharon called marty's cracklings in plain salt and salt and vinegar? i like the one with salt and vinegar flavor. it is really made of green peas so it's almost no cholesterol and was thus termed as vegetarian chicharon. it's great and if you are not a label reader you'd get fooled that it is chicharon you're eating.

this tastes good. sad to say, i recently refrained from eating marty's because i am on a very strict diet. i have to attend my cousin's wedding on may and my dress has to love my curves. anyway, we usually eat this during drinking sessions. it is cheap and delicious. btw, oishi means delicious in japanese. itadakimasu! :)

We're a big fan of Marty's and we think it's an ingenious idea to make a food such like it. It's so tasty and crispy that I don't crave for ordinary chicharons anymore. The fact that it's a veggie version of chicharon makes me feel comfortable in eating it.

Yeah I think this is one of a kind of product. But still I find the product rather oily for me. I hope they are using vegetable oil for cooking that. At first the taste is really good but over time I would say the taste is not that really good. But I can see in the grocery that this is one product that gets wiped out so easily. I guess it is because of their claim that it is cholesterol free that makes an appeal to the buyers.
