Ascorbic Acid is Vitamin C. If it is acid then it is bad for our body? Too much of it will be bad for us. So is it really true that Fern-C is a non acidic vitamin C?

Although vitamin C is water soluble (meaning drinking lots of water and urinating it will reduce your body of vitamin C), it has been proven that too much vitamin C can cause a number of illnesses/irregularities in human bodies like diarrhea, fatigue and nausea. Having a vitamin C overdose rarely happens, and might only produce complications to those who have illnesses that have bad reaction to vitamin C. But there are researches claiming that having more than 500mg of vitamin c a day can cause damage to certain part of DNA. I am not so sure about the non-acidic vitamin c though. That'll be weird.

Actually anything excessive is bad for the health. But I also heard that Fern-C is a good vitamin C and I take 3 capsules everyday.

Fern-C helps a lot for added vitamin C intake... as long as you never overdose your intake of vit-C...

What do you consider as an overdose for Fern-C? Because I feel that my system feels strong and that I seldom get sick if I continuously take Fern-C. Is three tablets bad?

Adequate amount of vitamin C in our body is good because it strengthens our immune system; therefore, helping our body to fight against diseases. Health experts recommend taking between 500mg up to 2000mg if you get sick often due to virus or cannot get enough from your diet. Aside from that, they also found out that vitamin C should be taken in divided doses throughout the day as urinary excretion increases rapidly when individual doses exceed 500mg. Too much of something isn't good. Therefore taking too much vitamin C is not advisable. Although not really harmful, vitamin C overdose will give a person uncomfortable feeling such as diarrhea, nausea, headache and increased urination.

Too much of the good thing is also bad. There are certain amounts of elements that that body can contain and the body can tolerate so if you have too much in your body then of course there are going to be some side effects. I think the answer to your query is really obvious. That's why doctors would say to take take vitamins only once in a day cause that's what the body can tolerate and taking more than once in a day is obviously not good.

Too much of anything is good for nothing. Vitamin C is very essential to keepup our immunity level. But then if excess of this vitamin may cause some allegic reactions to some people. So consult a physcian before you take any supplements.

Of course not.. not all Vitamin C is acid, theres a type of Vitamin C thats not.. for examples "Sodium Ascorbate" and "Calcium Ascorbate' These types of vitamin C is made for acidic people.. Because of people that's acidic scientist come to the idea of making a vitamin C that's not Acid based.. The latest type of Vitamin C is "Calcium Ascorbate" because it has two advantages you can get Vitamin C and also Calcium.. You can try that but its still much Difficult to find in the market cause its still under improvement..
