The Lumberjack's Joke

My father told me this story a few days ago. He said that this is a true story and I am still getting amazed by the stupidity of some people. It goes like this: Two lumberjacks went in a forest to chop some trees down during the winter season for fire heating. They were working hard when one suddenly found a frozen snake. While the other was working he put the snake in the other's bag to make a practical joke, thinking they will have a nice laugh after a hard worked day. Hour passed and they separated to their homes waiting to come back the next day to work. Probably because of the exhaustion or other reasons the lumberjack forgot about the snake, going home peacefully. The other lumberjack arrived home to his family and went to sleep. The next day the people were shocked : all the family members died bitten in sleep by the snake that defrost in the poor man's bag. The other person was charged and sent to jail ,as is it's thought. This is pretty much all I know about this story. It's one of the most disturbing stories that I ever heard in my entire life. I hope you "enjoyed" it. Ps: Sorry for any mistakes but I am very tired.

It's a creepy story, but I don't think that it is true for a couple of reasons. 1)I don't know that a snake that has been frozen will defrost that quick...and even if they did they would be extremely sluggish and weak for a while. 2) I find it highly unlikely that if the snake did thaw and was able to actually move around--he actually went into every room where the different family members slept, and then bit them all one by one. Plus, it was in a bag--if it got out I don't think it would be climbing up multiple beds just to get at the people (snakes are incapable of murder). But still! Like I said, good story! Thanks for sharing!

Hello! Well the snake was hibernating and it had a lot of time to "wake up" ,as it sat a lot of time in the bag ,which must had been opened. I think it has a bit of truth in it ,but what the hell sure it's a nice story to tell. Cheers!

Well the thing is that this is more a old rural story than that survived the pass of time. The old rural houses consisted of one big room or two where 4-5 people lived in, as a old custom to have enough kids to support the chores. The most of old Romanian country-side houses looked pretty much like this one and still are found today pretty many because some people are too poor and too ripped off by the corrupt people that lead us. http://upload.wikipedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4c/Ludovic_Bassarab_-_Casa_Taraneasca.jpg Not referral link or commercial purposes. Well I tried to write the link by hand and how I expected I screwed up somewhere. I'll be posting the image with the house now in this section. Cheers!

Hi, soulburn. This is something here! So the guy that played the practical joke ended up with the snake himself??? This is a twisted twist here. I am guessing that the boy came back and stuck the snake on him instead. This is very scary. I did enjoy this Urban Legend.
