Feedburner has also a lot of other flexibilities such as letting your visitors or readers subscribe to your posts, in which case when they are subscribed, Feedburner sends them the entries you have created straight to their emails. You will also be able to monitor the statistics of your feed's reach and the agents that read your feeds.

FeedBurner is a web feed management provider launched in 2004. It provides custom RSS feeds management tools to bloggers, podcasters and other web-based content publishers. Web Feed (or news feed) is a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. FeedBurner will summarized all your blog post into text format plus metadata (date you published your post and authorship) within a page.
Check how it looks by using your own sitemap: if your using blogger (blogspot) your sitemap would be:
http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml
(just add "atom.xml" to your blogspot URL, it is the default sitemap for every blogspot/blogger blog)
Hope, I have answered your questions.
