Hi sunshinegirl, I could hardly fall asleep when I come across certain situation. If too excited or taking too strong coffee about a couple of hours before bedtime definitely I can get into sleep easily. Yeah, the night seems to be very much longer while staring at the ceiling with the wide opened eyes It's really irritating..... I will fall into sleep if lying on an unfamiliar bed the first night. This always happens when I go for vacation. Yeah, just like you I usually have to stay up until 2 to 3 in the wee hours. Nothing can push me into sleep. even counting sheeps....which works well for others...Therefore I always bring along with me a book to kill the monotonous time in the middle of the night. This could make my eyes tired and .... Have a sweet dream

I also feel that way, I am having hard time to sleep even if I am already work for so many hours. However, what I am doing is to clear my mind. So I intend to watch any movie until I could not think of anything and my eyes really tired and would just fall asleep. That's what I am doing every time I am hard time sleeping.

You're to tensed up that's the problem. Learn to relax, just sit quietly and think about all the muscles in your body. If they feel tense, then deliberately relax them and tink about nothing else but relaxing all the muscles in your body. If you are worried about things, then just wipe those thoughts out of your mind and concentrate totally on relaxing every muscle. It'll probably take a little while to get the hang of it, but really stay with it because you need to be relaxed in mind and body in order to get to sleep quickly.

Yes, I have the same problem. I think if I let myself get over tired then I can't sleep or I will sleep a few hours then I'm up wide awake. But I have found that when I come home from work and take a 20 minute nap then I sleep better at night. Sometimes, I have so many things I need to do the next day that my mind will not shut down and let me sleep it will just keep going over the things I need to do the next day.

I think your stress gives you a different effect. If you noticed with children, if they have played so much during the day, they have the tendency to cry at midnight. But what can help to relieve that is massage. Maybe it can also help you.
