Collaboration Setting?

I have noticed recently that there is an option to post your photos so they will be available to others to use for their content as well. I assume that is what the collaboration setting tab is for. Have any of you done this with your photos? What is the benefit of putting your own photos out on Associated Content as basically open stock photos? Do you get paid each time someone views their article that they have used your photo for? I'm hesitant to use my photos like this, but if it does actually pay out, I think that I might have to try it. Do any of you have any experience with adding your images to the public gallery? Do you use photos from the public gallery for your articles?

I have added a couple. I doubt adding photo on it pays though. Because it does not reflect on your content with amount estimated earned against it like other contents. So my guess would be it does not. I have no choice to add the photo because I could not find anything relevant on the public gallery. Cheers.

I add a lot of my own photos for slide shows and for the articles I write, but I'm hesitant to submit them as available for the public gallery. I've actually only searched the public gallery once out of curiosity and it turns out the only photo it pulled up was not properly credited so I didn't use it in fear that it would look bad on me instead of the person who submitted it. I searched the forums on AC yesterday and it appears that currently they do not pay you for sharing your photos through the public gallery and allowing people to use them for their own personal content. At least not yet. I don't think it's really fair for them to request that you allow others to use your photos when you don't get any benefits from doing this.

I didnt think that associated content paid for photos. I only add some photos to my articles but nowhere else. Most of my articles dont have pictures attached to them. I really enjoy writing articles for associated content though. I love that they offer you upfront payment as well as money per one thousand page views which I get two dollars for.

You have made a very interesting point! Why share photos so anyone can use them and gain no profit from it? I wonder why this is an option at all? If you want to share your photos, there are plenty of other places to do that...and gain some reward (at least points that often can be traded into something else at the very least). I guess that some people may just be benevolent donators, but aren't most people on Associated Content to make money?
