well, first of all you should wait at least 2-3 before giving a best response because there is always a chance to get some better and more reasonable response beside the one you thought it is the best. the best one should be the best for you, not for someone else, so If you think some answer is the most qualitative and informative among all others then give it a BEST!

Hello john, to select or mark with the best respond/reply I always look for the one who got more relevant answer to the discussion/ topic I posted. And I rate also those who answered/replied on my topic. Happy mylotting.
