I know that shock collars are awful to use on dogs, the shock hurts them and can seriously make them disobey you rather than obey you...shock collars are awful and they shouldn't be aloud to sell them in stores.Whats you're veiws on shock collars?

I am personally against hurting animals (even the one you do with horses to make them run faster). I feel really bad for them, and they also have feelings like us, so it's really not right. So obviously, I am against shock collars. Pets are meant to be loved and taken care of, NOT to be hurt, ordered around and be turned into some sort of slaves.

yes,I agree with you.I beleive shock collars are very inhuman and they shouldn't be legal.I hate when owners put that on their dogs,I feel SO bad for the poor things. Thanks for answering..and by all means all dogs should be trained in a possitive way.

Yes, there are a lot of ways to train dogs PROPERLY. I don't get why they have to use shock collars. If the dogs can turn very violent, why don't they just use normal collars and leash to control them? I don't really see any point of using shock collars. If the dog is too much than they can handle, then they should just let go of it and sell it or something, instead of hurting it constantly with a shock collar. :/

yeah, people shouldn't even get a dog, until they have researched and studied proper training methods first.Shock collars are what people use when they don't know or either don't want to try proper training methods because they think its just to hard. Its easier to train a dog properly than hurting it.When people use shock collars they are really making the dog worse and making it scard of them.

I don't agree with the use of shock collars. I think people who use them just don't have the time to properly train a dog so they should not have a dog. I know that they are effective in most cases--and granted, there are some dogs that are so difficult to train that one may be tempted to use such a device. But I don't think it's a good thing and before using it on a dog the owner should have to use it on himself a few times!

People expect a miraculous behaved dog.I think people shouldn't get a dog if they're not gonna spend time training it properly.I believe in positive training, because I wouldn't want my dog afraid of me.I think yelling ,hitting and a shock collar may make the dog afraid of the person using those methods.

I don't like shock collars at all. Unfortunately I have had to use them at work on a few of the dogs. I always feel bad about it too. Like you said it doesn't usually do any good. It doesn't even faze one of the dogs there. If anything she barks even more! But what can I do? I need this job...at least until something better comes along. Happy mylotting!
