An intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence. The term "IQ", from the German Intelligenz-Quotient, was devised by the German psychologist William Stern in 1912 as a proposed method of scoring children's intelligence tests such as those developed by Alfred Binet and Théodore Simon in the early 20th Century. (wikipedia) On the other hand, EQ actually stands for Emotional Intelligence Quotient. Much like an intelligence quotient, or IQ, an EQ is said to be a measure of a person’s emotional intelligence. (http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-an-emotional-quotient-eq.htm) So, let's just say you only have to choose one. Which would you choose or like your child to be, a kid with high IQ or high EQ?

It seems having a high EQ can compensate for a low IQ.
