We can now check our precinct number and voting center via online! Do you know?

Commision on election - website checking of precinct number
Philippines
April 22, 2010 11:53am CST
Hey guys! I don't know if this is new, but this is the first time that I learned about this... We can now check our precinct number and voting center via internet just go to commision and election site: or click this link straightly: http://www.comelec. gov.ph/precinctf inder/precinctfi nder.aspx (this is not a referral link) On the site, you will need to fill up your name and date of birth then after submitting voter's information and registration details will be displayed... The server is fast, my information appeared within a second... By the way, you would see also if your status registration is active or deactivated... Deactivated means you failed to vote on the last election and you did not file or go to comelect for reactivation of your account. Anyone can use this for checking. Well I hope the election this coming May 10 would be peaceful. I beleive this will somehow make the election more organized. I mean before, there is no election that none is complaining about their names not listed... Unable to vote because they cannot find their names in their voting center... Do you already finalize your list of candidates?

hi there, yup i know about this and i have tried it already. i come to know about it from other mylotter as well. its just sad that my husband & i are both deactivated, so does it mean that we will not be able to vote? i have checked my parents' and my brother's status and theirs are all active and yes it shows where precint they should go to vote. i just wish and hope that the coming election will be successful and hopefully free from cheating. we haven't finalize whom to vote yet coz we are still waiting for something...

If you are sure you voted the last national election then your name should not be deactivated by now. I think they will only deactivate your name in there if you failed to vote the last two national elections. If you are sure of that, try calling your local comelec office and confirm the data you got from the net. I was also like that several weeks ago. I tried calling them and they said my records are still active in the precincts and I do not know why the data online is not updated.

hi rsa, yeah yeah i remember it now, i think you are the one who opened up a discussion about it the last time. i got the idea from you but i just didn't participate in the said discussion. anyway back to topic, its bad of me coz we fail to vote in the last election. the last time i vote was during the last presidential election when mrs.arroyo won.

huh! its bad news for me coz i wanted to vote. hehe but anyway, what can i do. its my fault that i didn't update my record, its difficult for me coz we are always moving from one town to another and it will be very costly if we go back where we are registered just to vote. too bad that we are not able to transfer. arrgh! better luck next time.

But one thing your should consider is be patient because this site sometimes is slow to load and sometimes it gives out the wrong information. I was one of the victims of that several weeks ago, I checked it and it said that my name was deactivated in the voter's list. I am pretty sure I voted last senatorial elections and I checked my wife's name and it was there active and we belong to the same precinct number and we voted together so why would my name be deactivated and my wife active? So I tried contacting comelec office where my precinct was assigned and checked it there is my name was indeed deactivated. Gladly I was not according to the records there. I am relieved by that information. So as a word of precaution check online and if there is a problem check with your local Comelec office to confirm if the data on the net is true or not.

If you failed to vote only once your records should not be deactivated. According to them you should have failed two national election before they remove you from the records.

Thanks rsa101, however I got a mail from them regarding that. I think that was mid of last year, if I am not mistaken.. I was planning to do so, but I just didn't find a time... Volunteers of comelec, city hall came here to our village but unfortunately, the mail came in after that one day registration here...

Hi rsa! My account is deactivated and I am very sure why... I failed to vote last time. And did not file for renewal or deactivation, whatever they called it. The info you provided is very informational. Well maybe the time you checked on the site, they haven't updated it yet.. So far, whenever I visited the site, it is loading fast (my relatives are asking me to check their)... Well I gues, I am just lucky!

Well this is good news for me.Thanks for the info, now I can look if I was still included in the voters list. The last time i vote was during Pres. Estrada's term.I hope I'm still in the list.

Oh I don't think so... If it was ex president estrada's term, I am pretty sure your account is already deactivated stanley777. Mine is deactivated and I only failed to vote on the last election. You should have filed for activation. They said the process is easy however, I didn't have a chance to go to comelec...

I tried looking for mine, and I was able to find it.Thanks for sharing the info. It really helps to avoid delays, I dont have to search every classroom to find my name just like the past election. This awareness among people indicates that interest of our exercise to vote this May. God bless the Philippines!

Hi juancarloboss! Welcome to mylot. I am glad they come up with that solution, for some of us, ended up not voting because of that problem... Some people chooses to just go home when they can't find their names in the voting place... I heard some are complaining that the in charge there are pointing them to this and there but once they come there, they still cannot find their name. To their dismay, they just go home...

I didn't know this and this is quite a good news for me because I am completely new to the place where I registered to vote. I transferred my registration from the province so I am not really familiar with the precinct I am going to vote. I will check out the link you gave. Thanks for this info this is very useful.

I don't know what happened. here is the correct edited link: http://www.comelec.gov.ph/precinctfinder/precinctfinder.aspx I have tried it, its working already. Thank you for responding. This is a good improvement actually... At least now, we are starting to be more automated...
