Larger earthquakes, quakes in strange places, volcanic activity, 2012 is coming!

I am not talking about the movie 2012, in fact I didn't even see the movie. I am talking about the Nibiru annual 3600 year fly by. Scientists predicted that there would be earthquakes increasing in intensity, strange weather patterns, volcanic activity, and a general increase in natural cataclysmic events. It seems to me that folks will wake up and start paying attention to what is going on as the predicted stream of events continues to closely follow the timeline that geologists and geophysicists have been predicting.
Do you think that we are in for more of the same type of natural events, an increase in occurence, frequency, and severity, or do you believe that it is just a bunch of doomsayers trying to panick people?

I don't believe in this. I think it's just a big prank like the y2k panic. If not that then someone is just expressing thoughts which should just be written in a book than forcing it to be presumed as real.

This information does not come from a couple of kooky nerds who live in their moms basements, this information has been flooding the internet, books, magazines, movies etc because numerous and sundry scientists have been doing research. Everyone from volcanologist to geologists and astrophysicists. They say that they have hard evidence that this is not only not unusual but that it has happened on a fairly regular 3600 year schedule. Whether you believe in what is going on, do a little research. If you are not the reading type, go to youtube and punch in the date December 21st, 2012 and see what comes up, watch a few, get informed. A little knowledge never hurt anyone.

I am informed. I just don't take them from movies, youtube, etc.. I read newspapers and watch trusted news channels here.

The strange weather patterns are most likely due to global warming, and scientists are talking about that. Earthquakes and volcanoes, though, are not a part of that. The 2012 hysteria is hype to sell books and movies and has nothing to do with science.
The end of the world has a long, long history, even before the common era, and is easily looked up in the web. My belief is that 2012 will come and go, like all the other dates came and went, and the doomsayers will just pick another day to sell more books and movies. It is what they do.
By the way, quakes can happen anywhere there is a fault, and faults are all over the world, including places that do not have them as often. When that fault under New York City breaks, I bet many people will really panic in this country. But it is something that they are expecting any time now.

There is also a huge subduction zone in Washington state that they expect a 9.0 on the richter scale any time from it. I live in the San Andreas fault zone, less than 2 miles from the fault itself, so I have ridden out more than a few quakes, both large and small. In the area that I am in it is not as if the city planners and managers did not plan our towns out here with a wary weather eye on the fault. We have few buildings that are allowed to build above a 3rd floor, and we have more active seismographs out here than just about anywhere else in the world.

Since there is no such thing as Nibiru I doubt that it has anything to do with the weather, volcanoes or earthquakes. What reputable geologists and geophysicists are making the predictions that you are referring to?

There are several. I don't know how reputable they are, some are fellows at a few prestigious colleges, a couple supposedly work for nasa, and other places. Go to youtube.com and type December 21, 2012, Nibiru, or Planet X into the search box and check out some of the interesting videos that they have on the topic. Not all of them agree that this has anything to do with a so called Planet X, but they are expecting some type of polar shift and some weird things with the magnetic field of Earth. According to several geologysts there is evidence that at one time or another in human history and previously there were extinction evens which occured due to asteroids, commets, and lead rich particles of matter raining down upon the earth from space.

I truly believe what the scientists have predicted. There have been a record numbers of earthquakes this year alone. They are now predicting that a big earthquake for California in September of this year. I just think its all working toward what may happen in 2012.

I agree with you. I live in the San Andreas Fault Zone, in fact I am less than 3 miles from the fault itself. Though with earthquakes popping up in places they have never been like Haiti, no where and no one is safe. If doesn't matter where you live so moving won't really help you unless you live somewhere near a beach.

There can be reasons on what is being told about what's going on around the world right now, and there are also facts to it, what is important here is that we became aware of how we are treating our earth and we should be obliged now to help perserve wha is left to us for our next generations.
