Is it necessary to buy costly cell phone....

hi there again Umadper, Maybe for others,they need to buy a costly cellphone for status symbol & their position... For me since i'm very simple,I don't go for costly cellphone the fact I haven't really bought my own cellphone...all was given to me as gift...either by my sis,my friends,my relatives,my bestfriend....but if I really need to buy my own..I will go for the facilities rather than its status symbol...

Well, you can see it the other way round also. It is necessary to have a complete or suitable mobile phone. These days any normal phone should have atleast the following features; a 3.2 megapixel camera, touch screen or qwerty keypad, audio and video player, external memory card support and java/nokia apps support. So inorder to have a suitable phone, such phones may come for a high price. I have a nokia 5800 xpress music edition phone and let me tell you its got everything you would need in a phone. It costed me 14,000 Indian Rupees. That's about 400$.

Expensive mobile phones usually have advanced features compared to cheaper ones but sometimes you can find cheap units that boasts the same features but these units are usually hard to find. Some people, i guess, just show off their fancy phones just to show that they're rich. They're called jerks.

hell0 my friend. hope you enjoy the lovely weekend :) well, it is not actually necessary to buy costly mobile phones, but I think it is better and also more reasonable, just because costly mobile phones are some guarantee for a good quality( well, not in all of the cases, but in many of them) so that's why now I will give you some examples to make you see, that I am right: 1. My first phone was Nokia, but I bought it "second hand", just because I haven't got money for some expensive one. well, it was really nice and good model, but it broke down after a week or two, just because it was with some software and also some hardware problems, and after I buy the repair, it costs me about half the price I gave for it. but do you know what: it brokes again and then I paid the same price again, and till that moment the phone costed me like a new one :( 2. My second phone was nokia again- it was "second hand" two but with a 2 years warranty, because it was used only 2 weeks. after a month it broke down, like the first one- some software problems. it prokes twice and after I repaired it the second time( fortunately I have a warranty) I sold it. now I have nokia e51, which costed me a lot but for the two years I have it, there were no problems at all with it. So that's why my advice to you is- better buy a costly and qualitative mobile phone( price is not always a guarantee for quality), because it is better to give some bigger amount once for something good, than to give the same amount or even higher for cheaper products, which break down easily hope you agree with me friend

That's depend in your status of life if you are a rich person and can afford to buy so no problem buying those expensive cellphones. The problem is when you are just a social climber buy those expensive cellphones even it cost a lot. Because of the faster growth of technologies most of us today tend to cope up with, buy those expensive cellphones even if it not necessary just to be end in the society today. For me I contented with my cheap cellphones because the purpose of this just for calling and txting friends and family.

I am not really a cellphone fan.while some consider their phones as status symbols,for me I see phone as a means of communication and nothing else.I am not after fancy cellphone.a cellphone that can take good pictures,whether it is a current model or not,is enough for me.

If you want the cell phone for your work purposes then prefer a good mobile phone which is not so attractive or more costly. I don't think it makes any major difference to you or your work. Only the design of the phone, sound, durability, maintenance and usefulness needs to be taken into account. Otherwise if you need enhanced functionality then go for other suitable phones. I hope if you want to show off then also you can prefer a costly phone! But it does no good!

It really depends- there are some cheap phones which are good too-some expensive ones are just for style and stuff.

I don't think that it is practical to buy an expensive mobile phone with the status of our economy. I mean, there are some features of an expensive mobile phone-of course it has also advanced features-that you may not be able to use. But if the mobile phone that you want suits your needs then go for it.

I feel many people spend lot of money on costly cell phones which have good features.But as far as my knowledge goes these features are rarely used.And ,I feel only to show their status and financial back up they purchase these phones. I like to be on the average range and purchase a good mobile suitable for me.

If I buy a high-cost cell phone, maybe it's because the facilities the phone offer.
