May be you will be saying 8 glasses of water, as it is a standard quantity of water a body requires a day. But there is more to water one consumes in a day. Apart from drinking plain water we drink directly everyday we also consume some virtual water, which is through indirect means through food products like tea, coffee, rice, bread, wine, meat etc., Here is an interesting list of water consumed through food products which are called water footprints. Did you know that we need: * 13 litres of water for a tomato * 25 litres of water for a potato * 35 litres of water of a cup of tea * 70 litres of water for an apple * 75 litres of water for a glass of beer * 120 litres of water for a glass of wine * 140 litres of water for a cup of coffee * 170 litres of water of a glass of orange juice * 184 litres of water for a bag of potato crisps * 200 litres of water for a glass of milk * 2400 litres of water for a hamburger * 16000 litres of water is needed to produce one kilogram of beef Reference: www.ifad.org www.waterfootprints.net Isn't it funny

i know that :D:D:D only it's not the quantity you consume by eating a tomato, you know... it's how much water is needed to raise a tomato ;) and besides recent researches show that there are different types of people and according to their metabolism they need different quantity of water per day, some even need to prevent themselves from drinking more than 250 ml per day
