Wait. What? Liberals get free speech too?

I thought only the tea party and geniuses like Sarah Palin could make speeches. I didn't know that the freedom of speech could extend to liberals. Tea partiers who demand free speech are protesting that free speech of Bill Ayers, despite their common distrust against the government. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG1es7skoiA&feature=player_embedded And, several years ago, conservative republicans either banned Michael Moore or attempted to bribe student governments to send Michael Moore away from speeches. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uszrGca7NTE The rich conservative right wing tried to purchase their first amendment rights. It's appalling, isn't it? You don't have to agree with what either man stands for, but you should agree that he has the freedom to say it. Your thoughts?

I don't understand the post here. Just blasting on the "right" again? I hope you and JB have a great time. Take some pennies.

I thought you guys had English long before us silly Americans. "may be" And it's in no way insulting if you're not nested in one of the grove's evergreens. If you are, then maybe you can answer something for me: How much wood did that woodchuck chuck, because I know that motherchucker chucks wood all the live long day.

well considering there are 6 million discussions 'blasting on the left' in here every day that would be only fair. looked like a discussion to me though. thanks for your well wishes though and here have some fishfood .

i was not excusing bad behaviour with other bad behaviour. you thought this discussion was blasting the right. so i made the very reasonable point that there are millions of discussions blasting the left in here. nothing wrong, presumably, with either but it is a little lopsided. i do not really want to get into another discussion on torture with you. especially as this was not the point of this discussion. you know what i think about it - certain things are wrong, no grey areas. "Leftybug's infinitely more partisan than I am, however, and you may be, too, so maybe I can't see the dying little tree through the vast and dim forest of puerile paltriness." how am i partisan in this context btw? i support neither of your nearly identical parties. nice use of alliteration in the last part of that but it looked like verging on rudeness.

do you have sources that are not youtube videos? anyway yes of course it is appalling - i am not sure that 'freedom of speech' actually equals 'you are free to say whatever you like that i agree with'. ps - i have a good idea what responses you are going to get to this. i am making popcorn - do you want some?

I accidentally did not put this in the "politics" thread, otherwise I would have been ambushed already. I am eagerly awaiting the drama. Youtube is the easiest for me, because it shows footage, and I see some of these things on the news, or as an avi, but I can't make those go on here easily. I can find html links to news pages about it, but I prefer video, because it captures more of the reality of it. Thanks for responding! I am glad you were one of the posters. I got my popcorn ready.

And here is a non you-tube about Michael Moore, releasing his movie for free online. It starts from wnd. You have to allow it to forward you to the next page, which I also linked to. http://www.wnd.com/index.php/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=74720 http://adage.com/madisonandvine/article?article_id=130801 The paragraph about controversy is where it also mentions when he was banned. "Mr. Moore was banned from several college campuses, including George Mason University in Virginia, while others, such as the University of Nevada-Reno, withstood efforts by Republicans to derail Mr. Moore's appearances."
