I'm believe that the practice of gambling in terms of any religion should prohibited because from the social aspect, gambling can be destructive of society, while in economic terms, gambling makes people lazy to work.
but in practice, many governments in many countries allow gambling. Should be recognized much of tax can be levied by the government from gambling activities. if been like this, why us fuss about gambling, unlawful or not ?

i also believe that games when played with money is a gamble. and they should be prohibited. i am also against the government to legalize gambling, in any way. the only way for them to stop gambling is for them not to allow it, by not giving permits to operate.

but do you think that only the government gets the revenue? how about the corrupt people behind issuing the permits and other people around? don't you think they also earn from those, illegally?

I suppose the fuss is that people get addicted to it and end up bankrupting themselves. Which isn't so bad if it's just them, but what if they have families?

yes, dawnald, you've talked about the losses from gambling. If gambling is a legitimate activity because it has received permission from the Government, the government should take responsibility for loss which there ....

i'm all for the legalization of gambling most especially on-line sports betting. here is a multi-billion industry that haas gone to congress and asked that they be legalized and the corresponding taxes be levied upon them. imagine all the projects and infrastracture that the government can do with all that funds. granted that it may lead to further corruption but gambling is not the cause of corruption mind you. it is corrupt politicians!
anyway, recently watched a cnbc special that online gambling might be legalized in the next few years. first it will be the online casinos then online poker and last but definitely not the least online sports betting.

I don't know with sure, whether there was politicization of gambling ... but which I feel is like that, the government playing on both sides, between banning and approving gambling activities

yes, you are just like me ... I'm also live and stay in the city of gambling, of course, gambling which have permission from the government. But that's be my question, why should any permission from the government if at the other side the gambling is something which forbidden?
