I cannot believe how good this band were (are) and I'm so pleased that I have not one, not two, but three of their albums here in Carlisle. I thought I'd only brought the LP "Look What The Cat Dragged In" back from Mum's house. I also have the two CDs "Wake Up And Say..Ahh!" and "Flesh and Blood." The track "Something" is now making me cry which wasn't the original intention. The words are getting to me big time. At least I have the 2 CDs on shuffle play so some party tracks will be up shortly. Way to go, so ace, ALL the tracks are ace.
I think everyone should play their stuff all at the same time, see if we can "will" Bret to get better.
We love you Poison.

I've not yet heard an update on his condition since about Sunday.. last I heard the doctors were debating surgery on the brain hemmorage. I'm wondering if there's been any recent change. If you get word please let me know, I am concerned for him.

There are lots of conflicting reports about his current state. Some say he's on the mend and others say he has had a setback so I don't want to link to any of them until I find out the truth. There is no doubt he had a brain hemorrhage but I suppose reporters (maybe) are denied information at the moment so choose to speculate about his condtion instead. I reckon he's still having tests and being monitored. I think it is really silly for some reports to suggest he will be singing very soon. The guy is too ill for that, unfortunately.

This is the latest news I have found about how Bret is feeling NOW and I was amazed to discover he kept conscious throughout his "episode" because he didn't want anyone from his family seeing him slumped unconscious on the floor. Medical treatment must've been really fast (as it needs to be in these situations) so, hopefully, that will help him.
Let's hope he makes a full recovery my friend.

I am a fan of Poison because they embody the clean and true rock and roll music. Every rose has it's thorns is my favorite music of theirs. And i happened to be named Bret also so you have to make it through Bret.

I'm really enjoying myself playing those 3 albums I have of theirs. Got the 2nd side of "Look What the Cat Dragged In" on my turntable now. Excellent stuff!
The neighbours were annoying me with a tinny version of Lady Gaga which was doing my head in so I thought, "right, a little competition is in order!" They soon turned theirs off cos my music is better hehe lol.
I'm glad you share Bret's name.

Why on earth did I say "Wake Up and Say Aaah!" What I MEANT was "Open Up and Say Aaaah! lol. What am I like?
I knew I'd seen them too. Lots of bands I saw that day because I'm 99.9% sure there were two stages. I may have been at the other stage the time Poison were on as there were a few more British bands I liked on Stage 2. However, I do remember some of their set. You can tell then that CC was the one that was "out of it" the most and I believe it was destructive for the band, according to what I've been reading. This is a shame because his guitar-playing is something else. I liked his comment about wanting his guitar to sound like Concorde. Even seeing that was sad in itself as it is no more, of course.
Hope you like the clip. I did!

I echo those sentiments. My Poison-ous afternoon was great. I believe it is a good thing to go back in time (that's what I've read anyway) lol.

Hi Janey..I love that song "Something to belive in" too..I can't believe that came out in 1990..where does the time go. I love the part of the song where he talks about the homeless eating from hand to mouth and the rich up the street drinking from golden cups..so true and even truer today. I also like the lyric, I wish i didn't know now what I didn't know then..I can relate to that too..and of course the reference to the Vietnam War..Yes, a very touching song..I'm going to have to go pull out that cd and listen cause now I want to hear it..Have a great day...J

I can't believe how versatile they are. There's allsorts going on in the background if you listen very hard to the music. Mind you, I suppose it's better just to bop along which is what they want us to do, right?
Oh I do hope Bret comes through, I've got a bad feeling despite his music I'm playing right now and it won't go away.
As for the "Something to believe in" lyrics. Powerful aren't they? You are quite right, it is a very touching song.
