I've been to this site since last year but was not able to do some jobs there. This past few days, I remember to check my account and tried to complete my profile information but still can't go through it since I'm not sure what primary role I will put. I can't decide since it made me feel I'm not qualified for any role that was given for you to choose from. Does Odesk requires professionals to do some jobs? I have Customer Service Rep background and also order processing experience.

I have been to Odesk for quite sometime. But its extremely difficult to get a job for a newbie in that site. So,I have found someother sites which are much better in terms of job conditions and pay as well. Now,its been sometime I have been to Odesk.

I think so and most of the terms and conditions seem to coined to favour the people who had projects earlier from the site. So,its extremely tough to win the first project there. The sites that I currently use provide different types of jobs from programming to data entry and provide more or less equal chance for all the members.

what are the typical job that you get there and how much are you earning from them? Are Odesk over populated already and that the jobs are not enough to it's members?

Okay, so that means... it's like your applying for a job online and you're lucky if they like your profile information? That's the time they'll hire you to do some tasks?

In your profile where it says Objective you need to tell the buyers what services you can provide for them so sell yourself. Tell them what you'll do and how fast.

You said you have customer service skills then that's what your skill set is. I'm sure you're qualified to do email support also. Have you done any work on forums or helped anyone make a website look better? Have you written any articles? Just try to remember all of the types of work experience you've had and put it in the profile even if it seems small. There is a portfolio area where you can insert URL's so if you've created a blog and have generated traffic to it you can describe how and put a link to your blog. You can also ask for more advice and for someone to review your profile in the Odesk forum. If you need more help let me know.
