I'll admit that I look. But, I do so because I am curious. (What does she look like? How does she keep that thing balanced on her head? Does she take it off at home?) I see women wear scarves when going through Chemo or just because she is an awesome dresser... I can't pull off a scarf or veil or turban. I've tried. :)

For me it's okay for any person to wear scarf or "turban"in public places, I am used to this tradition because in the Philippines, we have Muslim fellowmen who covered their heads with cloth because it is part of their culture and tradition and it is very okay. Personally, I respected other people's belief and tradition, it is part of our culture. Even myself, I wear scarf when going out during extreme hot temperature.

Hi Amelly, I wear a scarf myself. Maybe in this side of the world, people may not feel threatened by our presence. But in some countries, it becomes a security issue. I dress normally like everyone else, just that I wear a scarf. There was a certain period of time in the past where women wear scarves as fashion, thus it should be something to be alarmed about.

There are a lot of women like that here in our place. When I was in college I also had classmates who would wear scarfs. Here in my workplace, I also have a colleague who also wears them. Its not actually a threat for me cause I know that it is part of your belief. Maybe some people who are not use to it would find it strange.

hi amelly I would not feel threatened as we have some Muslims leaving across the street from Gold Crest. I have spoke to them a few times and they seem like well educated cultured people that were very friendly and asked me questions about living in a retirement center. Although their religious belief is not mine, it does not bother me. I realize that the muslims who live here in the U.S are not terrorists at all, and some were very shocked at the nine eleven horror. We all have differences in our religions which makes our USA so great,we live here in peace and freedom.

i also got americans neighbours that live near my house.as a muslim,i'm also shocked about the 9/11 accident but we muslims never support any terrorism and even our religion forbid violence in solving any problems.I don't know much to talk about any global crisis but we accept anybody despite their belief or culture as friends..it is nice for u to respond and i truly appreciate it.u make me smile

I have seen so many women wearing scarf on their whole head and face, exposing only their eyes in public. I think they call it hijab, correct me if I'm wrong. I guess, this has something to do with their religion. They are not allowed to be seen by men in public without it, but I know that they remove it at home when they only have their father, brothers or husband. I don't see any wrong with it, if it is being called by their belief, then we have to respect it.

IT IS TRUE.even i respect my christian's friends and chinese friends.like when i went to my friends house for a party or some occasions they will they me that the food is kosher n i can eat it.it is because my religion forbid us to eat non-kosher food n we don't drink.but i also knew about others belief n try to understand them.
