Have you ever been touched by some words in your life?

Sometimes a word may change your mind and influence your view, your behavior, even your life. I mean there are some sentences that can awaken the deaf or enlighten the denighted. Yeah, that sounds unbelievable. You are just touched by it like the magic and you cann't explain the reason. Maybe someday and someplace, some words would make your heart flexile. Would you like to talk about and share the experience?

I was indeed touched by words in my life. Words can be sharper than a sword, can pierce a heart without piercing the body. At the same time, words can be spicier than a chilly, it can make one cry. I was touched by words which were spoken by a handicapped girl belonging to a NGO. She spoke about her defect, how she wanted no sympathy from others, what she wanted to become!!! I did not mind shedding a tear or two, her speech was awesome!!

i guess it was because i was teenager and quite unsure of my place in the world. it was until i read "the moment somebody offended you it means you gave them the permission to hurt you". so now, whenever i get hurt i look first at the offender and see whether we're on the same level or maybe he or she belongs to a higher level. then, if that is the case that's the only time i look deep in myself and try to figure out if he or she is right. if he or she is in a lower level than me: forget it. he or she might as well be offending a wall.

myy0220 yes words can really touch us at times like when I had fractured my shoulder and had to have a lot of physical therapy on my shoulder and had to leaRn to use a quad cane. The therapist would tell me when I said I could not walk one more step , you can always do more than you think you can so then I would walk maybe fifty feet, and he would say try five more and I made it. soon I was walking down one corridor and up another one. then when I had special exercises for my arm with the shoulder joint replacement I would get tired and say no more, he would again say you can always do more than you think you can. so I would work another ten or fifteen minutes. I have learned since then to use those words when I think I just cannot do this or that, and found I could indeed do more than I thought I could.
