I want to make them for the children and me. I have already frozen many bananas, strawberries, and cantelope. I have the milk as was suggested by a friend. Now I just need some recipes that you all use. How much of this and that do I use? How many cups or whatever? I have got a nice Vita Mix blender that is need of being used, lol. Thank you in advance for all responses.

I make smoothies all the time now. I use about 2 cups liquid (I like almond milk)Orange juice would be good. Add banana and about a cup and 1/2 of frozen berry blend (strawberries, blueberries and raspberries)You could use any fruit you like. I also like to add about 1/2 cup of yogurt. This morning I add some instant coco to. It came out good. It makes more than I can drink at one time so I put the left over in the fridge for later. Less milk and more fruit will make it thicker. I haven't thought to add oat meal but will try it that way next time.

Your welcome. I may even try some peanut butter next time too. Kids Love peanut butter and a friend of mine puts almonds in hers.

Ooooh boy, I can see this one making in the machine, lol. I will certainly use your recipe. I do appreciate you sharing it with me. I had not even thought about raspberries and blueberries. I do have blackberries on the property. That might even be good to add in some time. lol Thank you for sharing with me.

I made something that I can be proud of. It's a choco-banana smoothie and it's really simple to make. What you need to prepare are the ff: 6 ice cubes, 4oz of fresh milk, 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 2 tbsps of chocolate syrup, half slice of banana, 4 tbsp of sugar (or depending on your taste). Mix everything and voila! you now have a very delicious smoothie, and so much easier to prepare.

lol, and here I thought you'd be one of the ones with a fabulous recipe for me. I will certainly let you know what ones I get and if I liked them or not. You know, I will have to try about all of them to see which ones we like and which ones will be our favorites! lol

I have never used a recipe for this. I just throw fruit, oats , milk in the blender and adjust accordingly. For example I will add more orange juice or milk - anything really. I like this for breakfast. My usual is banana, orange juice and papaya with some oats or any cereal. I am sure that you will get lots of sensible recipes from other Myloters

Mmmmmm, That sounds good and I just bet the ones with cereal the children will really go for. Me I do like oats so I will have to try that one for sure. I don't have papaya, oh well...I must get some from the store. I appreciate the suggestions. lol My, but this is fun. Getting new things for us to try with my Vita Mix.

hi, moondancer, nice to meet you here. I' m sorry you are struggling to find some recipes to make smoothies for your children, as far as i know, there must be some handbooks for that in the bookstores , maybe you can find some good there. Thanks, best wishes

The thing is I was wanting or hoping that some of my friends here or someone had already found some recipes that they like and have tried. Books although they are informative they also don't have but a few recipes out of many in one book that someone would even wish to use. Books are a good idea if you have money to go out and buy them. Thanks for your input. Welcome to mylot. I'm sure you will like it here as we ...most of us do.
