Starting a Homebased Dog Biscuit business

I have been reading online that this may be a fairly lucrative business option for me and since I already make biscuits for my dog which she loves em I figure take something I like doing and is not a great deal of effort and see if I can make it into a homebased business. Now the research and planning of this is where I am coming up with a big issue and that is. I have no idea what rules, regulations and laws are in place on this type of business and I cannot find anything online that tells me anything about it. Does anyone know here anything about the different laws and regs for dog treat selling and making? I live in Florida so and any help will be greatly appreciated.
