Seeing my Meralco Bill was a WTF moment

Oh my goodness, I just saw our Meralco bill and i truly had a major WTF moment. Imagine, they have increased their rates last March already from Feb's rate, then now again???? I had the same consumption level last March, but I am paying 30% more than my last bill.
I have read and heard a lot of complaining for the March bill, I wonder what others will think and feel upon seeing their april bill?
has anyone almost fainted too because of their skyrocketed meralco bill?

If MERALCO will have a competition it will be better and expect that we can have quality service and low price of our electric bills. With this monopoly going on (kudos to Cory Aquino for giving back MERALCO to Lopez family) we will be having a lot of WTH and WTF moments with them.

that's why it is very important that we elect the "right" public officials. I'm being such as pessimist right now though, because of this dang bill. will we ever have a leader who will "defend" the public from such abuses?

wow that is huge. but you know what, i know of and read about some people whose bills shot up to 50k from their previous 20-30k bills.
It kinda is depressing, right. Especially if we know we can;t do anything about it. It's not like a mobile phone service where we can just turn off our phones or not use them if we wanted to save and all. *sigh*

I think so you are from Philippines and this company you are talking about is Filipino private company which provides oyu guys electricity.We are not facing that much hike in prices here in India.Generally monthly bill still comes below 1 k rupees.10 k is too much and i would have fainted as well.

Yeah Meralco really s*cks!! But we have nothing to do about it because it is a MONOPOLY type of market. So they control the price hike due to different intolerable reasons. Electricity hiking is normal nowadays because it is already summer and the temperature is really a disaster. But one thing it is abnormal to increase the rate for almost 30%. We also experienced that today. We had a bill of almost 4000. So ouchy in the pocket.! I think the one of the major reason why there is an inflation in meralco bills is because of the series of brownouts that happens in the different continents in one province. IT is a major phenomena that must be avoided.

i've read too that our electricity rates are one of the most expensive rates in the world.
shucks. cant help but look again. the generation charge is just around 45-50% of my total bill. the rest, WTF entries.
ayayayay i'm really getting irritated. i found it hard to press the "submit" button when i paid online. ack.
