Baby Survives Abortion

However, the infant survived the procedure, carried out on Saturday in the Rossano Calabro hospital, and was left by doctors to die.
He was discovered alive the following day – some 20 hours after the operation – by Father Antonio Martello, the hospital chaplain, who had gone to pray beside his body.
He found that the baby, wrapped in a sheet with his umbilical cord still attached, was moving and breathing.
The priest raised the alarm and doctors immediately arranged for the infant to be taken to a specialist neo-natal unit at the neighbouring Cosenza hospital, where he died on Monday morning.
Italian police are investigating the case for "homicide" because infanticide is illegal in Italy.

As the mother of a little boy that is disabled I know it is horrible to have abortion suggested during pregnancy. The hospital staff say some terrible things like 'your baby might not be compatible with life'. A consultant offered me an abortion when I was 36 weeks pregnant and I said no way. It is better to give a disabled baby the chance to live because much can be done to help in modern medicine. My son had an operation when he was born to close the hole in his back. He had a shunt put in two weeks later.
Babies of 22 weeks, 23 weeks and 24 weeks pregnancy can survive if born and given excellent medical care. I think abortion is wrong. Disabled people are lovely and should be cared for not aborted during pregnancy. The Italian disabled baby that was aborted should have been able to survive. I read a five year old boy in Manchester was aborted three times and luckily each time it didn't work.

I read in which way the Italian baby was disabled. He could have had a simple operation and been able to live a happy life. I believe that hospital staff try to get a lady that is expecting a disabled baby to have an abortion. I know a lady who was told her baby would be a monster and if she went ahead with her pregnancy it would ruin her marriage. She is still married and she has a delightful little disabled boy.

Stories of abortion irritates me everytime. This is no exception. I don't like the idea of abortion. That kid could've been someone else a few years from now and they just killed him. That sucks.
