OB-gyne, do you visit frequently?

Some women often go to the OB-gyne for annual check up or for vaccination. I understand that the reproductive system is one of the vital organs for women. However, I don't usually go to the OB-gyne since I'm just 22. I haven't gotten any vaccinations such as cervical or something. Just today, I visited an OB-gyne for the first time to have a check up. I realized that somehow, it is important to visit regularly. What do you think? Do you go to the OB just because you feel something in your system, or do you do it regularly for maintenance?

Hi Pierrella, Good day! I go to my OB Gyne regularly and that is once a month. I've been doing this for almost two years now. It's very important that young girls as early as the first time they had their menstruation visits an OB regularly. Whenever, I visit my OB I see old women their telling me stories on how they used to be very healthy but found out eventually at a later age (around 40+) that they have a problem that has been there since they were young. It eventualy leads to a cancer or a serious problem which requires an operation, chemo or regular medication. They told me that I made a right decision in visiting an OB regularly. My Doctor has been my OB for almost two years now ever since I decided to have a regular check- up. You did the right thing. :)

Yeah. It's very frequent and that is because I'm currently pregnant. :) However, the frequency of your visit will also depend on your OB's advise. She does some tests like papsmear which is being done at least once a year. Based from the result of the tests she would tell you if you need to go back after two or three months or when your next appointment will be.

oh, that is scary. Well, all of us young women are trying to avoid sickness once we get older. Isn't once a month very frequent? Do you do a physical check up or what kind? :)

I never visit OB-gyne. I feel the need sometimes but there is a fear inside that I will learned that there is something wrong with me. IT is better to visit to so that I will know but I am being coward to have an assurance. Maybe this is an eye opener for me to give myself a try. So that I will avoid big problems in the future. what has happened when you visited?

Nothing serious. The OB checked me physically. When she didn't see anything, I went under an ultra sound. The result was a polycystic ovary. I got scared but she explained that these are little and benign cysts, and they will disappear anyway. She just prescribed some medicine :)

I go regularly just to make sure everything is okay, I know it isn't the funnest thing spreading your legs for a practical stranger but I would rather do that and know everything is okay than not lol But I have to admit now that I'm pregnant and have to go every month I find it kind of annoying, but I know it's good cause they make sure I'm okay and the baby is good too =)

Spreading your legs in front of a stranger is really awkward. Especially if she does something else. I just told myself that she is a professional and it's for my good :)

When I was younger I would go about twice a year. Then as I got older I cut it down to once a year. Now its been a good probably eight year since I have gone to a ob-gyn. I just hate going to any type of doctor let alone this type. I don't feel sick and everything seems to be working just fine. I'm past menspause and if I feel something is wrong one day then I will go to the doctors.

My OB told me to pay her a visit at least once a year and have some test. She also advised me to have the cervical cancer vaccine as soon as possible. I agree that we have to go to our OB at least once a year so we will be aware of the things that are happening in our system. As they said, its better to prevent than cure.

I really wanted to go to my OB-GYNE,but I am afraid to have some check up though I don't have any bad signs & symptoms of any diseases in my reproductive organ. I think so. Well all I need is cervical vaccine to prevent me from having a Cervical Cancer someday.

I've never been to an OB-gyne until i got married and i was 25. I fully trust her from the moment i consulted about my reproductive system, til i gave birth and now for annual pap smear.

It seems like I am always pregnant so I do visit frequently but when I am finally dont having my babies I plac to go every year because it is important... just to make sure that everything is ok.. exspecially if you are sexually active with more than one partner because there are certian things that regular test cannot dectect... I am married and only have one partner but I still wanna be safe.. it's kinda like how men should go for a physical yearly theres really no difference.
