I have spend many years in Canada and thsi country looked great.I still remember the maple leafs and the fishing time in this nice and friendly country.I still remember the CN tower in Toronto,I still remember seeing the snow and lovely winter in the capital city of Canada,Ottawa.I still remember the victoria Park in Vanvcouver and of course the Canadian Moose in the wilderness.Although I could not go to many bother places in this big big country(used to be number 2 largest country in this world after the former Soviet Union which was number 1 in size, and now for sure it is the biggest),but definately I miss this country. If you have been there before, share with us about your feeling.

I'm quite Canadian... I was born in the capital, Ottawa, and moved out to the West coast when I was just 3 years old. People don't believe me when I say that my ethnicity is Canadian, but on my Dad's side, my Grandmother was British, while my last name is French, and we don't even know where my Mom's side came from, because we know generations that have been farmers out in Lower Canada.
Now I live in Vancouver, and I just love it here. I do film and video work, and we're called "Hollywood North". I love to make bike rides to downtown, which is a bit of an island, with giant mountains just over the water on one side, the ocean on the other side, and a wonderful city on the other two sides. It's technically a rainforest, because 40% of greater Vancouver is all forest, still. Another thing I love is the cultural diversity. It's only 40% white, much lower then the rest of Canada, and I live in a South American / Italian district, while half of my neighbors are Chinese. Another great thing, and this goes for all of Canada, is our systems with Crime and Heathcare. I can go to a clinic or the hospital for free, and I only pay about 10% of the cost of prescription medication. For crime, in Vancouver we have one of the highest crime rates in all of Canada, but it's still only about 10% of the crime that happens in our closest american neighbor, Seattle. Canada is also known as being very cold, but here in Vancouver, our temperature gets up to 30 degrees in the summer, and around 0 in the winter. We usually only get about 2 or 3 days with snow in the year, except at our massive ski resorts up on the mountains, that have snow all the way from around October to June.
I'm telling ya, if you ever want to move to another country, or make a Vacation in a great city, come to Vancouver. It can be as expensive or cheap as you want it, and it's really a fantastic place, either way.

I've been all over Canada, except far north toward the islands. It is a beautiful country. Vancouver and Victoria is 7 hours away by car for me. I've been to Canada via Maine, Michigan, Montana, WA and Idaho. Each was a little different.
I sure enjoyed eating at Tim Hortons too!

I've been to Windsor and Toronto. Canada is so clean and neat. I love Toronto and remember Ontario Place. I also remember the parade and got to see the Trinidadians strut their stuff. In the eighties I went their with my girlfriend and others. I wanted to go out and night and she didn't.
I have many fond memories of Toronto.

I have booked a flight to Vancouver in Canada for June 2010. I shall be spending three weeks there with my toddler son and baby daughter. We hope to see Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the Rocky Mountains. My brother-in-law is Canadian and he has told me so many lovely things about Canada. Yes, Canada is a very large country. I haven't yet had the chance to go to Russia but I have been to Australia twice. That is a very large country.

Yes,I remember you said that you had travel to lots of places before. For sure ,you don't want to miss Canada.Vancouver is a nice city and you can enjoy the famous Rocky mountain in there. But I can tell you that,I haven't been there myself before.I only seen it from the plane. But if you can take a cruise to Victoria. You will enjoy the tour.It was so relax and there is a palce called Butcher Garden where you don't want to miss it.Well,Vancoucer is a great place to travel and their salmon are very famous across the country.Have some and I hope you will enjoy your summer tour in this year. The flowers and sky are also nice in there. But I heard that they got a big hole in the sky so wherever you go,be sure don't get too mauch sunburn from there because it is not good for skin.Well, enjoy your trip and I wish I were you in June ^_^.No problem,I just pretend I 'll be there then ^_^.

I've been to Canada a few times and find it to be a beautiful country with charming people living there. I've never regretted my visits to Canada. One of my sisters and her family lived there for a while and they all loved it.

I also have been to Canada three times in the last ten years. I find myself going back to Canada during my yearly vacations even if I toured this country already. What I love about Canada is the safety and cleanliness of the country. Everything seem so peaceful. There are also tons of tourist attractions that one can visit. It is too bad though that the shopping here is more expensive as compared to America.

I am not sure about the shopping in the United States but the price in East Coast and West Coast in Canada are so diifferent. In the place such as Vancouver, everything seems more expensive. But in the East Coast such as Toronto, the price are much better.I think if we can go to Prince Edward Island, perhaps things will be much lower. But for sure province like this is too far away and normally is not for tourist to go.But since I've been there a long time before ,I won't mind to visit places such as Nova Scotia, and up to the North and see the Polar Bear walking around in there.(for sure it will be from a longer distance).Well.I am not sure if I still have the opportunity in my life or not,but daydreaning is not bad.Have agood day and I hope you will enjoy wherever you go.

Canada is great, and I love the people from Canada. I have only two problems with the country. A: it's too cold to stay year round. A visit in the summer is fine, but I'll never go up there in winter.
B: Their health care system is awful, and the taxes are too high.
Other than that, oh yeah, Canada is a wonderful country.

I live in Canada and of course, as far as Im concerned, its the best country in the whole wide universe!!
But, dont expect to see a moose waiting for you when you get off the plane, Ive lived here all my life and never saw one. I never saw a log house either. There are lots of misconceptions about Canada, that we live in the wild like cowboys. Well, sorry to burst your bubbles but we dont. We have big houses, big lawns, swimming pools, indoor plumbing, a/c, heating, you name it, we got it. Life is good here as we can say anything we want. We're free!!
Of course we have snow but if you're into skiing, well you'll have a good time. Snow tires are mandatory, so even though theres a huge snowstorm, we're out there driving. Everything is open no matter how bad the snowstorms are. We're used to it and we manage very well.
The summers are beautiful. Nothing like sitting outside a restaurant and watching people drive or walk by while having a meal. I think we have the best foods in the world. So many great Chefs, so many great restaurants where you can eat foods from all over the world. We have lots of festivities all through summer (Jazz, Just for Laugh, Flowers, Foods, Fireworks, Italian, Gay Parade, etc)
Our night life ends around 3AM...last drink served in bars at 3am that is lol, then its out to eat something.
AND......this is just Montreal. Theres Quebec City also, I know that Black Eyed Pea and many others will be there this summer for some Festival.
Wherever you chose to go in Canada, you'll find its beautiful, the people are friendly and you'll never EVER be able to see it all......I havent yet!!
PS: one thing you need to know is that we have a weird sense of humor and we take nothing seriously.....so have fun!

Where in Canada do you live? I'm a Canadian, living in Vancouver now, but was raised in Kelowna, BC, which is a smaller city (around 100,000 people) thats in the middle of the Okanagan Valley, next to a big lake. When we lived up in the mountains, there were signs on the side of the road we took to get home saying to watch out for deer, which we often had to do, and about once a week, at least, deer would come out of the forest to eat from our cherry trees. We would also sometimes get cougar warnings, for when a cougar was spotted in the neighborhood, and everyone would have to stay inside until the officals could get it back into the forest.

Christoph, I live in the province of Quebec (not Quebec city) a 45 mins drive from Montreal. (see the RED dot in my picture) a small town known for its apples. Im surrounded by apple orchards and hills.
Yes I do see those signs about "deer crossing" I know we have them in the area, but Ive never seen one as of yet. Ive seen raccoons, skunks, but nothing much bigger than that. As a kid, I used to go "up North, the Laurentians" with a friend at their summer cottage (see GREEN dot in my picture) to a place called St-Jovite which is about 20 mins from Mont Tremblant and a 2 hr drive from Montreal....its in the mountains, around a lake. My friend's ant saw a bear there once while taking a walk around the lake. But Ive never seen one myself. As for a moose, those big beasts.....Never saw one either..and in a way, sure hope I never see one face to face haha!
I know they exist, some people have seen them but not me and nobody I know have......except for my friend's ant who saw a bear.
As for cougars, I dont think we have them in my area, sure sounds scary though and yes I would definitely stay indoors if we had those warnings.
We do have wild animals but further up North, Im too close to Montreal to see wild game.
