I think we all get bored with our own repetoire at times. I love to cook, but, although it's really creative, it's also hard work and quite the chore. There are so many good cookbooks available, not to mention online recipes, including the Food Network's that you could get plenty of ideas from. Also, if you go to restaurants, you can try to approximate their dishes at home. I learned to make a great Russian borscht that way, from the Russian Tearoom in NYC. My family loves my Tuna Casserole, 'cause it's different than most. I add peas and whole baby carrots and make a moist and fattening sauce for the pasta. We also like to make a meal of Caesar Salad. My mom's spaghetti and meatball recipe is great. You could try a recipe swap with friends and neighbors. A new cooking channel is coming on TV soon, so there should be more new ideas.

You are a lucky duck to have a "private chef" like your son! Wish I had one. Only my oldest daughter cooks, but she is too busy at work and commuting to actually come home and cook. Oh, well, maybe someday....I love to cook, still. But it's hard work and the clean-up's a bear!

The easiest way is just to open a site with meals or a book that can help you and try different things everyday. If you cook for pleasure and love the things you do you will make them taste great no matter you prepare them for the first time.I love all kinds of soups and salads so I cannot give you a specific idea.Just try!

Hi, 34momma. Try cooking some cubed steak and white rice. You can also try, chicken legs that are broiled in the pot. Have you ever had beef stew? This is very delicious. You can also bake some pork chops and serve this with some sweet potatoes. I hope that these meals will get you out of your boredom zone. This happens to me a lot when I can't possibly find something new to eat. It is very depressing. I get so tired of eating the same thing over and over again. I am always thinking of new ideas when it comes to cooking too. You can also look in magazines and prepare some of the recipes from "Food And Nutrition" magazine. This is by Kraft. They have some delicious and healthy recipes. I have been really thinking about cooking some dishes from out of this magazine. It is a free magazine.

Cooking is so easy if your interested in doing it. There are lots of cook books sold in book store, do grab one and try all the recipes there. In the beginning you will get lost because you are not yet familiar with the ingredients but later on as you get used to it, it will be as simple as ABC. Good luck!
