Is this true...an email from the united nation.

yesterday i received an email from united nation as stated " This is to notify you that you have been chosen by the board of trustees of the above international (charity & human Developmental) organization, as one of the final recipients of a cash grant/donation for your personal development of the sum $xxxxx as developmental aid from the UN foundation The I.T.I.L foundation, nigeria has been appointed to oversee this development affair you are required to expeditiously contact the executive secretary of the I.T.I.L foundation with the details below for documentation and processing of the release of your cash aid, between the hours of 8:00 am - 7:00 pm on monday through saturday." there is an email add on the lower part of the mail for the contact person. is this true my lotters? those any one there experience or received also this kind of email from the united nation....

This is definitely a scam. There are a lot of people out there looking for an opportunity to fool someone and steal from them. I don't believe that money comes free this time. I got emails like that before. They were not from UN but the idea they put into the message is the same: entrusting you with a certain amount of money or giving you something out of nothing. What these people want is just to get your info. My husband call them identity thief. Once they get your personal data, they will use it for their own advantage. You cannot anymore contact the person on the name reference list once you give them what they want. The best way to do is to ignore this message. I usually block the address or mark it as spam. thanks for the advice merlibradley. one thing more is the email add where i will supposed to send an email is suspicious its a personal email add. actually its very tempting because it is really a huge amount of money. but i'am thinking that with the crisis we have right now no agency or a foundation that will give you that kind of money just for free.

it is probably a scam email. they are sending that kind of email to fool a lots of people. i had never received that kind of email.
