Blogging as a form of relief

You know, it's kinda funny how people feel more comfortable sharing things online than to share these intimate thoughts and feelings with family and friends.
It's like having an online diary meant to be shared to nameless, faceless people. Are we all just seeking understanding without the fear of being patronized by those closest to us?
Sometimes I think blogging has become a sort of reaffirmation for some people (myself included) that they've done the right things and made the right decisions in life and just seek approval from others without having to deal with them face to face.
Blogging, an escapist's therapy session with the world.
Hmmm...

Yes, I do agree with this. I actually used to have an online blog that I just set as private where I could release all my thoughts and feelings for each day. None of it had to be interesting, or make sense, because it was only for me. I don't do this anymore, but it was a good relief at the time!
