I Just Cannot Bear To Imagine Further

I am just feeling all out of sorts after reading this article and looking at all the pictures of abandoned dogs in the UK, who has until May 6 where if they are unclaimed, will be put to death! To date a dog trust survey has revealed that a total of 107,228 dogs were being abandoned, a shocking increase of 11 percent from 2008 figures. However, equally shocking and sad is that the authorities aren't doing enough to reach out and help these healthy and abandoned dogs find new owners and home. Instead, they are being killed at a rate of one per hour. I hope that members here in UK will spread the word around to help these poor abandoned and save them from a fateful conclusion. Dear skysuccess, I got a shock too when I read your topic of discussion here. That is a big figure to digest and a very sad news to hear! I hope the authority concerned, animals society and some big corporate companies will do something about it. I believe some awareness need to be done here or else this will be worsening. I hope the campaign to save these dogs will rise and more people will come forward to adopt them. My nephew had personally adopted 3 dogs. Thanks for sharing and take care :)

Iriene88, Like you, I am beyond shocked but sad with this article. I feel that these dogs have been failed by all quarters, starting with their insensitive owners. From this article, I wonder if future pet owners should be both tested and registered to prevent such abuses and insensitive acts.

Dear skysuccess, You have a very good point there. All pet owners should be registered to prevent this type of abuses. In Malaysia, all prepaid mobile line are to be registered so that the authority can trace any kind of usage abuses. Thanks and happy mylotting

That is just wrong in my opinion. Luckily here, there are a lot of programs that try to assure that animals don't reproduce at a rapid level such that there won't be a lot of stray animals running around. In addition to that, there are a lot of people that will foster animals and try to adopt them out of their own homes. It is great because innocent animals aren't being killed. I think the fact that animals are killed is wrong and it shouldn't be allowed to happen in my opinion.

Oh that is so cruel. I hope I can adopt one but I do not live in Europe. I know feeding them is expensive but killing them is not the solution. I did not dare look at the article nor view the pictures because I might cry. I am so sad that dogs are just killed over there where here I just lost my beloved dog. Hope the authorities find a better solution to this.

Leixa003, My exact sentiments here as well. I just cannot help feeling out of sorts and am going to have some difficulty sleeping with this news article flashing in my mind. I hope that the authorities will indeed come up with a solution for them and fast.
